What a busy week it has been for our year 2 children, singing, dancing and celebrating prior to the next stage of their life journeys into year 3. You have been an amazing cohort and we wish each and everyone of you every happiness for the future 💙

Sports Day Part Deux
The children enjoyed lots of fun and games this morning for the second half of our sports day 😊⚽️🏑

The Oaktree School were invited to Nower Wood this afternoon to celebrate this year’s wilder school adventures, along with some fellow Year 3 children from The Hermitage School.

Six children from Year 1 were chosen to represent the infant school at The Surrey Wildlife Trust nature reserve. They had great fun toasting marshmallows, pond dipping and making wooden necklaces.

Thank you to all the parents who joined us and supported us with transport, we hope you had as much fun as the children! We look forward to continuing caring and finding out about nature through our curriculum and our Forest School, and hopefully continuing to work alongside The Surrey Willdlife Trust with further exciting adventure.

We were over joyed by the resilience, co-operation, positivity, integrity, respect and responsibility displayed by all of our Oaktree children yesterday morning at our annual sports day. A truly memorable morning and lunchtime picnic was enjoyed by children, families and staff. 😊👟🌟

Our Year 2 children had a fantastic trip to Windsor Castle today. Hi-lights included The State Rooms, Queen Mary’s Dolls House and St George’s Chapel. Today the Castle was safely guarded by The Royal Gurkha Signals 😊🏰🇬🇧

From biking to baking and everything in-between its been an amazing 2 weeks here at The Oaktree and Hermitage Holiday Club. 😊🧑‍🍳🚴‍♂️💙

Our Year R children are having a wonderful day in the sunshine at Marwell Zoo ☀️even the tiger came to tea and the sloth woke from his sleepy slumber since Tuesday to come out to play 😊🦥🐅🦏🦒

Chip, chip Hooray!
There was certainly no hesi-taters 🥔 in entering our World Book Day book character potato competition. Our eyes were peeled with enjoyment at all the spud-tactular designs. Here are some of the entrees!

The 2024 edition of Safer Internet Day took place on Tuesday, 6 February 2024. This special celebration, which takes place in February of each year, aims to raise awareness of a safer and better internet for all, and especially for children and young people. 💙

As part of their topic “Coastlines” year 2 are having a fantastic day exploring the sea life centre and seafront 😊🌊🐡🦑🪼🐚🐠🪸

Inspired by Japanese Artist Yayoi Kusama, Woman with the Dots, the children have enjoyed being creative this week. This afternoon we shared with pride our wonderful artwork with our parents. 😊🎨🖌️🔴⚪️🔵⚫️

It truly was a laughing all the way end of term this morning when the whole school came together to enjoy our annual staff panto.

Christmas spirit was in full force at the Oaktree and Hermitage schools Christmas Fair. Thank you to our parents association HOPA, for organising all the festive fun. Our KS1 dance group, KS2 choir and a visit from Santa himself put smiles on many faces including Mrs Spires! 😊🎄🎅🏻🎶

Walking Home For Christmas 🚶
Christmas music created a festive ambience as our brave nursery children walked out into the icy, early morning air to kick off our Walking With The Wounded charity event with the aim of supporting those that have served and now deserve.
It was delightful to see so many Christmas hats thankyou for your support with this and our The Oaktree and Hermitage school councils for planning this event.
