Our young people and colleagues at Aspris have been spreading joy and positivity this festive season. From Christmas cards to Christmas cakes, we've been helping people in local communities, as you can see from the examples below:
โ๏ธ Students and teachers at Coxlease School in Lyndhurst spent an afternoon writing Christmas cards to elderly residents of a local care home. They wrote over 50 cards and our students enjoyed writing to wish them a Merry Christmas.
๐ฆ Our HR, People Services and Learning Development Teams kindly arranged to collect food bank donations for their local South Leicestershire Food Bank, who were extremely grateful for their donations of essential items.
๐ง Students at Sheridan School in Thetford have been busy baking and creating goods to put into Christmas hampers, which were delivered to those less fortunate in the local community. The hampers included scones, jam and lots of tasty treats!

Studies have shown that even small interactions with dogs cause the human brain to produce oxytocin, a hormone which increases feelings of relaxation, trust and empathy while reducing anxiety. This is why we're happy to have dogs to support our colleagues, children and young people across our offices, services and at home.
We love to share photos of our dogs, which increases these positive feelings, so here are just a few of our four-legged friends at Aspris. We'd love you to share some of your dog photos with us!
Trevor Torrington, Chief Executive Office at Aspris, said: โChildren and young people are at the heart of everything we do here at Aspris, so when the unique opportunity arose to create a new set of behaviours it seemed natural to get their creativity and talent behind it.โ

Across the full range of our services, we dedicate ourselves to being the difference that helps children and adults to realise their goals, so that they can look to the future with confidence and optimism. Our Childrenโs Services operate across the UK and the Middle East, and we provide Mental Healthcare Services in the Middle East.
Getting Festive across our Aspris Services
Our schools, colleges, children's homes and offices are starting to look very festive, and colleagues are taking the opportunity to bring some light and joy to the children and young people. This includes putting up decorations, having Christmas-themed activities and parties, and โelf on the shelfโ style daily challenges to make things fun.
Take a look at some of the fantastic festive decorations in the video below ๐โ๏ธ

What a way to get into the festive spirit! Students from Arden College went to see the Blackpool lights and received a special treat of dinner out last week.
This is just one example of how our colleagues go above and beyond to enrich the lives of children and young people. The young people had a great time!
Aspris behaviours
Did you know that our new Aspris behaviours were based on the drawings from the young people we support across our services?
See these drawings come to life and learn more about our behaviours in the video below.
If youโd like to work for an organisation which is aspirational, positive, fun & friendly, courageous and innovative, please visit careers.aspris.com to find the perfect role for you.

We're super proud of the young people at The Warren Children's Home, who have started a shoebox appeal to support families in Ukraine. These boxes contain chocolates, toys and essential items, which will be given to those in need over the festive period.
The young people have surpassed their goal of donating ten boxes - well done to The Warren!
There's one week left to nominate for our first annual Aspris Moments that Matter Awards! ๐
Our new annual awards event recognises and celebrates Aspris colleagues for inspiring and motivating those around them, and for creating moments that really matter to the children and young people supported across Aspris services.
Colleagues can nominate internally, but if youโre a parent or carer, or know a young person whoโd like to nominate a colleague or team, please visit http://ow.ly/HHJf50LI8Qs and submit your nomination by Sunday 27th November.
Arden College feedback v3.mp4
We love receiving feedback from parents of the young people we support! ๐คฉ
A parent recently got in touch to tell us how her son has improved significantly in many areas since he arrived at Arden College in Banks, Lancashire. As you'll read below, he's now achieving wonderful milestones and achievements.
This is just one example of how our amazing colleagues make a difference and change the lives of young people across our services.

To commemorate Remembrance Day at Aspris, our services will be dedicating time to teach our young people about the importance of today.

Our friendly team will be at on Wednesday 9th November. If you're looking for a rewarding career with a supportive and innovative organisation, come and say hello. ๐

Congratulations to Michelle Morris from our Aspris Fostering Team for being shortlisted for Team Manager of the Year at the upcoming Social Worker of the Year Awards 2022!
Michelle's colleague Wendy nominated her, saying:
"Michelle is the best social worker and social work team manager there is. She has taught me more than I ever thought I could learn, guided me without hesitation or reward, and has been an absolute rock during the lows and highs of my social work journey. If I can become half the social worker Michelle is, I will be exceptionally proud. It is an honour and a privilege to know Michelle and to be able to call her my colleague."
We wish Michelle the best of luck for the awards next month!

We were delighted to welcome World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Joe Joyce to one of our schools recently, as part of their Black History Month celebrations to provide an inspirational talk about his career.
Joe was a great sport, answering questions from students and colleagues at Roehampton Gate School in London, which included: "Do you think you could win against a T-Rex dinosaur?"
One student said: "It was the best assembly I have ever had in all the schools I have ever been to."
Thank you Joe!

Teenager excluded from three schools now travels 40 miles for his education
What an inspiring story from a young person at one of our schools!
Talking about his move to Rossendale School in Lancashire, Marcus said: "I know now it was the best decision for me and my education because I'm not different anymore (and) there are lots of other Marcus' at this school. Teachers are trained specifically to support kids like me. I have a personal curriculum that focuses on my strengths, not my weaknesses. There are only five others in my class with two staff so it's much calmer and therefore easier to learn."
We're very proud of Marcus and the amazing things he's achieved since moving to one of our specialist schools, and we're thrilled that he's made the shortlist of eight out of 72,000 nominations for the National Diversity Awards.

Today is Bring Your Dog to Work Day! ๐ถ
Our dogs have a variety of different roles at Aspris: some provide company while our colleagues work from home, some are a fun and friendly presence in the office, and some provide mental health benefits to the children and young people across our services.
Here's what one of the students said about their school dog, Rocket:
"Rocket the school dog has multiple benefits, especially when students are particularly worried, anxious or even upset. By having Rocket, it improves students' attendance and engagement with education and he provides a sense of belonging and comfortability. It can really make my day when Rocket is in."

Children make exceptional progress, and this is made possible by a staff team that is dedicated to supporting children and promoting their continued development. Children are provided with heart-warming and dedicated person-centred care that helps them to make excellent progress.โ
The inspectors went on to say: โChildren are cared for by an exceptionally motivated staff team. Staff promote a sense of pride in the children.
