Work placement
This Traineeship work experience is part of an education and training programme that is focused on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for. At its core is the Work Preparation training, English and maths for those who need it, and a high quality work experience placement.
Traineeships help unlock your great potential and give you the work preparation training, maths, English, Digital Skills and work experience needed to get an Apprenticeship or other job.
NB: Traineeships are unwaged. But can lead to a paid Apprenticeship if the employer wants to take you on at any point during the programme.
In this role tasks could include:
Planning and supervising activities like arts and crafts
Helping children to learn numeracy and language skills through games
Observing children and making notes to write reports
Making sure children are safe and well
Supervising lunch times and play times
Training to be provided
This Traineeship opportunity includes work preparation training, functional skills maths and English support for those who require it and a high quality work experience placement.
You will gain work experience and get on the job training to develop in this role and hopefully progress on to the apprenticeship.

Food Hygiene certificates
Interview practice and on the job training
Future prospects
After successful completion of the Traineeship course, you will receive a certificate of completion and reference as a minimum, to support future job applications. There may be opportunities for interview and progression onto an apprenticeship or into employment with training or further education to gain a recognised qualification becoming a fully qualified nursery practitioner. Possibility to become a full member of staff if the opportunity arises.
This opportunity is a Traineeship. Unpaid at first but a Bursary payment can be made for those eligible (we can check this prior to starting)
if successful you will begin a 12 month Apprenticeship as a HGV Apprentice Technician
Some of the job roles..
-Shadowing technicians
-To work with qualified and experienced Technicians learning how to repair and maintain HGVs.
-You will be trained how to repair, service and MOT
-Working alongside a qualified Technician learning how to carry out repairs
-Learn how to use computer aided diagnostic equipment
-Attend any technical training that is made available
-Adhere to the Company Health and Safety policy
-Assist with cleaning the work space area
Personal qualities..
Some basic understanding of mechanics
Good timekeeping skills
Good communication skills
Qualifications..
Traineeship can include Maths and English functional skills if you need them.
The Apprenticeship will include NVQ level 2 in HGV mechanical repair
Assisting with fitting:
Clutches
Gearboxes
Minor and Major interval services
Brakes
To complete a work placement to lead to an Apprenticeship, a Bursary can be provided for those eligible, open to ages 16 - 24 years.

• As Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Apprentice, you will be required to do the following:
• Your duties will include:
• Conducting services and repairs
• Inspecting, removing and replacing components
• Smoothing of body panels
• Prepping body panels
• Assisting other mechanics
• Painting body panels to blend in with orginial bodywork
• Removing dents and filling if required
This is an unpaid position but it is temporary and will lead to an Apprenticeship if you are suitable. A Bursary will cover your expenses.
