The children had lots of fun on pancake day exploring the measurements using bowls and spoons to create their own pancake mixture.
We love messy play here at our nursery and it is such a brilliant way for children to explore their world and different materials such as ice for this activity.
At the weekend some of our staff completed the final part of their first aid training. Well done everyone

Happy Valentine’s Day from the Teenie moons
Mini moons were learning about emotions as part of their children’s mental health week experience. They used the display to identify different emotions and practiced some themselves.
Throughout the week, we have been exploring the importance of children's mental health through a variety of activities. The children had lots of fun expressing their feelings through playdough.
Well done Nasreen, our chef who secured us a 5 for the fourth time in succession. We are very proud!

This week is children's mental health week. The children will be doing different activities to help them to better understand and communicate their feelings, to promote their mental health, and to remember that kindness goes a long way.
Baby moons enjoyed exploring their own farm with the different varieties of animals around them. The children explored the cocoa powder and oats in their play, they had lots of fun singing along with other children as we picked out the animals during the song.
The children enjoyed exploring the story Goldilocks and The Three Bears. They explored measurements using different-sized bowls to measure out oats and water. The children had lots of fun mixing the oats and water with their hands as we explored the textures.
Laura was supporting recognising the different colored ducks through water play.
This week the children explored the Hungry Caterpillar story. Through the story, the children learned about healthy foods. The children chose a variety of fruits to cut independently using one-handed tools enhancing their physical development.
Last week we had a staff meeting. We talked about the importance of a communication-friendly nursery and had an activity to set up for each room. Jemma is doing her PGCE in primary education at the moment and shared with the staff some of the skills she has learned regarding the importance of the activities we set up for our children.
This week we will be celebrating storytelling week. We would love to see what books you will be sharing with your little ones
