Great trip to Alton Towers with Y11 Creative iMedia students yesterday. A really interesting talk at the beginning of the day, time looking at Galactica and then filming recording as we enjoyed the rides.

Race for the Line Season 3 - 2017-2018 School Year / Dendrite

We have signed up for the Rae for the Line program with Bloodhound for next year. This will mean all our new Y7 students will learn about (in Computing, Maths, Technology and Science lessons) and then make their own Rocket car sometime before the end of January 2018 and will then race them during Feb or Mar 2018. The winning team will then represent the Academy in against other schools in regional finals and hopefully go on to the national finals later n the year. https://www.dendrite.me/community/view/communityid/5910562608d7348e51afafd9 :collection-groups

2 days to go until the Rocket League final 😀

Timeline photos 30/03/2017

Looking forward to Rocket League finals next Tuesday. LAT are all revved up to drive to victory

Photos from Shire Oak Academy Computing's post 09/02/2017

Six weeks of intense competition culminated in a thrilling climax tonight with LAT winning a close and tense final. LAT took the first match only to be pegged back by The 3 Rocketeers in match 2. It all came down to the final 5 minute match and as you would expect in the final the two teams were evenly matched. The match ebbed and flowed for 4 minutes before LAT gained a 2 goal advantage. The 3 Rocketeers desperately battled, but couldn't break down a stubborn backward guard from LAT. The clock ticked down and LAT won the tournament. Sporting hand shakes all round showed the mutual respect both teams had for each other. In the semi-finals The 3 Rocketeers drew first blood, seeing off a competitive effort from Capri Sun. LAT then battled against CS Squad to gain their place. Well done to all 4 teams for their splendid efforts. LAT now go to London to the national final on April 4. The other three teams are also travelling down to cheer LAT on.
