❄️🚂Small world play🚂❄️
The children have engaged in a winter themed messy activity today. Allowing imagination and open ended play to encourage mark making and the development of fine motor skills.
🌲✨It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas✨🌲
🌨️❄️S N O W . D A Y❄️🌨️
There’s only one way we are spending a snowy day… wrapped up warm and outside playing👏🏻
We used all our senses to explore all aspects of the snow, used our imagination to role play in the ‘North Pole’ and physical development skills to find different ways of moving in the snow. Next time we hope for enough to build a snowman 🤞🏻
🐻 WE💛PUDSEY 🐻
This week the children have been creating Pudsey bear using lots of different resources.
❤️Poppy day maths activity❤️
🧙🧹✨ Room on the broom ✨🧹🧙
Last week we started exploring our favourite Halloween story. We read it, watched it and role played it.
🎃 Have you picked your pumpkins yet? 🎃
🎃Gluing and sticking🎃
Brilliant concentration from our little active learners this week. Using their fine motor skills to glue and stick their pumpkins using orange tissue paper. Using their hand eye coordination, their knowledge of colours and the most important resource… their voice. We loved hearing about everyone who has been pumpkin picking so far!
✨🙌🏻Parent partnership🙌🏻✨
Nothing makes me happier than parents being just as involved as I am in their child’s learning and development!☺️
Coming up to the end of the first half term and parent questionnaires have gone out. I am noticing a common positive on the ones I’ve received back so far, and that’s communication 👏🏻
I’m also thrilled to have had lots of feedback and acknowledgment of the baseline assessments each child has had and as a practitioner, value the contribution to support and further their learning at home.
Here at Little Petals, we are happy when children are thriving 💫💫
Thank you 🫶🏻
🧱Invitation to build🧱
This week we’ve enjoyed lots of outdoor play in the autumn sunshine. We used our construction equipment along with some open ended resources and added imagination to work as a team and build things. 👏🏻
Some children pointed out that our cardboard reels look like wheels. They made a car. I added some chairs to extend learning and change their car into a bus. It was then a train, a tractor and even an aeroplane. 🚘 🚍 🚂 ✈️
🪵🍂Sensory playdough🍂🪵
We’ve been using some of our own sourced natural resources to engage in open ended play with our continued provision… playdough.
🚂🍂Invitation to explore🍂🚂
This week some children have brought in some of their autumn finds. We have used these to create an invitation to explore whilst still focussing on a common interest … trains!
🍃Messy play🍃
Some of our little petals have been for a nice walk to collect some autumn resources. We enjoyed crunching in the leaves, splashing in puddles and observing the signs of autumn.
When we got back we showed our friends what we’ve found and decided to use them for messy play. The children created some lovely pictures by leaf printing with paint. This encouraged creativity, developed fine motor skills and communication with friends🙌🏻
🍁💛This terms parental involvement💛🍁
Each child has taken home a bag to fill with lots of weird and wonderful natural resources that we can use in our learning. Who doesn’t love an autumn walk with all the family. 🙌🏻
