Above the Water LTD

Swimming provides the opportunity to learn a life skill whilst interacting and having fun. This should be no different for a child with a disability which is why we offer fully inclusive swimming lessons.

Here is Charlie. He could teach the world what fun is all about. He loves the water and is learning how to be safe in the water each week. He is absolutely smashing all his targets in his swimming lessons!! We are so proud ❤️

As tempting as it is to rescue someone, you should never go into the water. There’s so many ways you can help someone without putting yourself at risk. We will be covering different ways to help each other in our lessons.

Can’t quite believe Above the Water is 8 (yesterday-ooops!!). What a journey we have been on. We have met some absolutely amazing people throughout the years and have taught hundreds of children to learn a valuable life-saving skill.

As always, we cannot begin to thank our swimmers and their families for helping us grow and develop as a business.

Above the Water isn’t just a job, it’s a huge hobby of mine and my wonderful team (past and present incredible teachers). By placing your trust in us, you allow us to do a job we just simply adore. We LOVE teaching and being part of all the wonderful swimming stories.

‼️ASTLEY HIGH SWIMMERS WHO USE SEGHILL LEVEL CROSSING ‼️

The council are closing the road between 5th May-10th May. Please plan an alternative route to lessons if this impacts you.

Hartley Level Crossing Upgrade Works - Sunday 5 May to 10pm on Friday 10 May

We will be installing and testing the new level crossing equipment at Hartley Level Crossing from 10pm on Sunday 5 May to 10pm on Friday 10 May in the location shown below. Following this, a second period of work will be carried out from 5am Monday 13 May to 5am Monday 27 May.
Works will be carried out 24 hours a day for both periods. We will need to have a full road closure over the Hartley crossing while the works are taking place. A diversionary route, which has been agreed with the council, will be in place for your convenience.
Pedestrian access will be maintained.
A free shuttle bus will be provided to access local bus services which will be diverted due to the crossing closure.

We understand that working near homes and working overnight is far from ideal and I am sorry in advance for any disruption these essential works may cause.

Our teams have been briefed and will be mindful when carrying out this work, making sure all the relevant mitigations are in place to avoid excess noise.

Local buses will be diversion and will run as follows

X7 - diverted via The Avenue to/from Seaton Delaval (not serving Astley Road, Double Row & New Hartley)

Home to school transport will also run with altered times and details will be shared from the local schools to parents.

The shuttle bus will run from the Hester Gardens bus stop on the west side of the level crossing to the Avenue Head at Seaton Delaval to connect with local bus services.
