Our Story

St Martin’s is a small rural school consisting of five classes located in the beautiful village of East End, only five miles from Newbury. We are incredibly proud of our strong Christian ethos and distinctive family atmosphere which permeates all that we do in our school. We recognise that every child is unique, and value each one as an individual, providing them with a secure and friendly learning environment in which they are nurtured and encouraged to develop their own skills and talents.

Our school values of respect, friendship, courage and creativity underpin everything we do and support our children's physical, emotional, social, moral and spiritual development alongside their academic progress. Learning is at the heart of our school and we aim to foster in our children a real love for learning. We strongly believe in the importance of everyone within the school community being a lifelong learner.

There is a real community feel at St Martin’s and staff, parents, children, governors, the local church and all stakeholders work collaboratively to support each other. We believe that by working together we can ensure our children develop into happy and confident individuals, able to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future. Parents, friends and family are encouraged to join in the many and varied aspects of school life, to work alongside the children and to celebrate their successes and achievements.

It is a real privilege to be Headteacher of St Martin’s and I am incredibly proud of everyone who contributes to our school, ensuring we provide high quality education and a range of amazing opportunities for our children. We hope that our children leave St Martin’s having achieved their very best and look back with happy memories of their time with us.
