🌊🏖️ Reception’s Outdoor Learning Day 🧸✨
Reception had a wonderful time outdoors exploring activities inspired by the beautiful book ‘The Sea Saw’ by Tom Percival.
The children created their own beach scenes, shared their favourite seaside memories, and even built a train station complete with a moving train, a waiting room, and a ticket office! 🚂🎟️
It was fantastic to see such creativity, teamwork, and care for each other throughout the day. Well done, Reception — what a brilliant job! 👏💛
Four children from Year 5 represented Pennington at the Furness Youth Climate Conference at Furness Academy today. We learnt about how to reduce our carbon footprint 👣, learnt about wind turbines and how they make greener energy and took part in a sustainable clothing fashion show.
They will impart their new-found knowledge to the rest of the school when they have designed an assembly. Furness Academy Cumbria Development Education Centre
🇨🇦 Canada Day Celebrations in Year 6! 🍁
Year 6 have had a fantastic outdoor learning day exploring all things Canada Day, which is celebrated on 1st July across Canada.
They had so much fun taking part in a range of themed activities — from playing “ice hockey” on the slippery hall floor 🏒, to crafting their own Canadian canoes, going on a Canada fact hunt, and enjoying team games and quizzes!
They also would like to wish their friends who are emigrating to Canada a safe journey and the very best of luck in their new adventure! 🍀✈️
This week’s Special Mention children and dojo winners and there are so many of you! Well done everyone, keep up the good work! 😀🏆
