The Young Voices Choir enjoyed an amazing day at the 02 Arena in London yesterday. The children and staff have been working incredibly hard to learn the songs, actions and dance moves, so it was absolutely brilliant for them to finally perform at the 02. What an experience!
We still have many places left in clubs for this term. We have tried to provide a wider range of clubs in response to parental requests, but we do not want then to run with a few participants only. We will therefore be opening this up for parents to book more than one club very soon, so if your child wants to attend a club and you have not yet booked them in, book quickly! If you have not yet downloaded MCAS, you will need to do this or e mail the school office with the chosen club ASAP if you are having technical issues.
This Thursday we will be holding another of our extremely informative and successful parent workshops with the Canterbury and Coastal Emotional Wellbeing Team.
This session will take place in the small hall, and will contain a presentation on Autism and how this can affect the day-to-day lives of your children , and there will then be a great chance for discussion with the EW Team and other attending parents.
As demonstrated at our previous workshop - Understanding Anxiety - it's so important to be able to gain support from healthcare professionals and parents alike.
If this is something you'd like to attend, please either reply down below in the comments section or email the office to let us know. Alternatively, you're welcome to speak to Miss Fisher or Mr Grainger who will be on the gate in the mornings this week. We look forward to seeing you there
Welcome back to Term 5 of this school year. Just a reminder that we will now be using My Child At School (MCAS) for communication, booking of wraparound care, trips and clubs from this term. If you have not yet downloaded the app, please can you do so as a matter of urgency. If you are encountering any issues, the school IT manager and office will be able to help you so please let us know via an e mail to the school office. We look forward to seeing all the children back tomorrow for a successful summer term ahead.
Can you help one of our Reculver families, in a dreadful and tragic position at the moment due to an awful fire.
Rebuild a family's life ❤️, organized by Freddie Birchard Hey Everyone, As alot of already know and would of seen on Facebook, our sisters house s… Freddie Birchard needs your support for Rebuild a family's life ❤️
Can you help Team Reculver? We have many Autistic children at our school and Mrs Browning is our ‘Autism Champion’
This weekend, she and a group of staff are supporting world Autism acceptance week, as we have been in school all week, by doing the autism night walk in London.
Team Reculver! The wind, sleet and snow won't stop us! We will persevere through our walk! Thank you so much for all your sponsors. All 6 of us are incredibly grateful for every penny you can spare to support this wonderful cause. Go Team Reculver!!!
We would like to create some lovely new outdoor reading areas with a coastal theme and are trying to salvage some interesting and useful items to help with this. If you have any of the following items which you no longer need or are looking to replace, and if they are in a safe condition, please can you contact Mrs Wright through the school office to arrange drop off/collection. We hope that this will breathe new life into a couple of areas of the school and make pupils excited about visiting them.
Garden bench
Pottery/ceramic planters
Terracotta or wooden planters
Plants! Particularly of a coastal nature such as grasses
Nautical themed items such as rope, an anchor etc
A wooden rowing boat
Wooden ladders
Driftwood
Compost
External paint in blues, greens or whites
Old paintbrushes
Many thanks!
Can you spare some time to help children who need more practice in reading? If the answer is yes, we need you as a reading volunteer! Some of our children has been really adversely affected by the pandemic, and practice in reading in particular will help them get back to where they need to be, and to fly in their learning. If you can spare a morning, and afternoon or more, please contact our school office who can help you with the next step in becoming a volunteer. Please share with family and friends.
Do you know someone who can spend some time supporting our school as a Governor? We are looking for the ideal person with the right skills to be part of our governing body. In particular, we would love to find someone with knowledge of risk management/health and safety/community links/building management. Just one of these would be great! If you think that you may know such a person, do share this and get in touch via [email protected], and we can give you further information. Thank you
After the excitement of yesterday in Early Years, when Mr Michief was causing all sorts of trouble, the excitement and michief has continued today, when there has clearly been a michevious overnight visitor....the children were shocked when they came into class this morning and their work to rid the classroom of Mr Mischief will clearly need to continue!
Early Years went out and about today in the sunshine to explore our local area. They spotted every house on our House Hunt and they were able to talk about the different types of buildings that they saw. They were very well behaved and enjoyed sharing this experience with their friends and parent helpers.
Would you like to be an astronaut 👩🚀?
This is a question being asked in Year one this term! With this lovely theme of space, the children, and some adults, have come dressed as aliens, astronauts, stars and planets today. Needless to say it is a very colourful and fun time in year one this morning!
Over to you now everyone at home, in the comments below, can you answer the following question?
Would you like to be an astronaut and why?

We are looking forward to seeing our prospective Early Years vistors tomorrow..we have lots of exciting activities all ready for the children and cannot wait to meet everyone for loads of fun!
It's flu immunisation day tomorrow for children in all year groups. If you have not consented to your child having the vaccination via the online form, they will not be given it. The vaccination is via a nasal spray, not a jab!
Early Years have had an amazing Forest School Day on Thursday! We loved exploring in the woods, hunting for the colours of the rainbow, singing songs and watching Miss Ackland light a mini fire. We listened so well and had a fab time. In class, we made a bread roll - a little something for the children to enjoy with their dinner! A massive thank you to Miss Ackland for having us . We have loved our Forest School experience.
We'd love to have your views on our school on the survey forms, given out at parent consultations. Please send the forms back via the school office, or via your child's teacher. Thank you!

Our first show of the Year - Years 3 to 6 watched a performance of The Wizard of Oz today which was a non-stop
bonanaza of singing and dancing. It certainly livened up the afternoon and was a fun introduction to this classic
story.
