The teenage years can be the most challenging for parents. Teenagers are going through a lot of physical, emotional, and cognitive changes. They are trying to figure out who they are and where they fit in the world, which can lead to mood swings, defiance, and a desire for independence. Additionally, their brains are still developing, which can affect their decision-making and impulse control. It can be challenging for parents to navigate these changes and find the right balance between giving their teenager space and setting boundaries. Parenting NI has a range of help and resources to support you during this time, including our Odyssey Parenting Your Teen programme. Find out more on our website or call free 0808 8010 722.

Parenting stress is a very normal part of the parenting experience. With parenting comes a lot of worry, responsibility, muti-tasking and emotion…you are not alone if you sometimes feel overwhelmed. To deal with stress you need to find healthy ways to cope, here are some strategies you can include in your routine…
It's also important to remember that it is okay to ask for help when needed and not to hesitate to seek professional help if your stress level becomes overwhelming.
Parenting (NI) tips for parents:
St Brigid’s Feastday : 1st February
We will celebrate St Brigid’s Day with song and prayer, asking her blessing on all our families.
We hope that the older classes will get the opportunity to make traditional St Brigid’s crosses from rushes .
If your family have access to rushes they would be very grateful for some on Monday or Tuesday. Thank you

Today is and today’s date (27 January) is historically significant because it marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest N**i death camp.
Today, we remember the millions of people murdered in the Holocaust under N**i Persecution, and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur.
This year’s theme, Ordinary People, highlights that every one of us has a role to play in making our society a more inclusive and welcoming place for all.
Later today we will light up our key council buildings purple as we take part in the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust's national moment of commemoration, and take a stand against prejudice and hatred in the world.
