In Pastoral Assembly on Thursday morning we all said goodbye and thank you to Miss Campbell who has been completing Teaching Practice in P2 since October . The children have loved getting to know her and enjoyed her creative lessons .

We celebrated St Brigid’s Day in prayer and song, with storytelling and art . We took home gifts and blessings for the start of Spring 😊

WONDERFUL WACKY WEDNESDAY Today we launched the new school pupil council initiative- Wonderful Wacky Wednesdays ! It was such good fun! P4 - p7 all signed up for mixed age clubs - 6 in all and here are a few pictures. This is part of our Take 5 programme, promoting health and well- being 😃

We hope that the older classes will get the opportunity to make traditional St Brigid’s crosses from rushes .

Today is and today’s date (27 January) is historically significant because it marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest N**i death camp.

Today, we remember the millions of people murdered in the Holocaust under N**i Persecution, and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur.

This year’s theme, Ordinary People, highlights that every one of us has a role to play in making our society a more inclusive and welcoming place for all.

Later today we will light up our key council buildings purple as we take part in the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust's national moment of commemoration, and take a stand against prejudice and hatred in the world.

Great day out at the Cumann na mBunscoil indoor blitz. Our girls battled hard to make it to the semi-final. Lots of lessons learned and ready to go again in a few weeks 😊💪🏼😊

At the Diocesan Mass in St John the Baptist Church we shared in the celebration of Catholic Schools’ Week and also met his Grace Archbishop Eamonn Martin . Our pupils were represented by the Head Girl, Melisa and Head Boy, Ethan . We are along with the Ethos team from St Catherine’s college .

Well done to the P6 and P7 boys who took part in the Cumann na Bunscoil indoor blitz today . Great teamwork boys!

Grandparents Day Celebration in CSW:
Next week all Catholic schools celebrate Catholic Schools Week.
The theme is ‘Walking in Love and Faith together.’
This is exactly what we do every day here at Mt. St. Catherine’s PS.
Classes will have activities every day but Friday will be very special when we invite all our Grandparents to see the P7 celebration assembly. The P7 parents are also welcome . There will time afterwards to share a cup of tea and a chat.
