Year 5 have been identifying the similarities and differences in the physical features of the UK and Brazil. First, we located them on an atlas to see how their location in the world could affect the climate and features.

In DT this week, Year 4 have been making their own biscuits! They measured out the ingredients carefully before adding their chocolate chips or sprinkles!

Year 3 had a fantastic day at Rainham Marshes. They created sketch maps of the River Thames, explored different plants, participated in a seed dispersal game and investigated fibrous and tap roots! They had so much fun!

School Councillors had a brilliant time leading their Phase Assemblies last week where they promoted Road Safety Week. They were brave, confident and inspiring! We are very proud of them!

Year 3 celebrated World Art Day by creating their own 3D portraits using a range of materials! They had so much fun!

In Year 4, we have been finding out all about our ears and how sound works! We created our own “ear trumpets” (pinnae) to see if this made sounds louder and went on a sound hunt around the school!

On Science Day, Miss Wilson (our Science Leader) led a special assembly, where each year group shared the amazing experiment they had carried out on Science Day. Then, Miss Wilson surprised everyone by demonstrating a couple of her favourite experiments. As you can tell from the reactions, the children had a blast watching spectacular science taking place before their eyes!

On Science Day, Year 4 used Science (sherbet and fizzy drinks) to blow up balloons, which saved us all the tiring work of using our breath! It was super exciting watching the balloons inflate at different rates with different types of fizzy drinks!

On Friday, Year 3 became scientists for the day. They had so much fun completing their Barmy Bottle Rocket experiment, to find out which drink was the fizziest!

Year 6 really enjoyed Science day today. We learnt how to carry out a fair test using independent variables. It end with a fantastic assembly, with lots of experiments!

They’ve designed a positive behaviour poster, an informative newsletter and created a new feedback box! Miss Carvosso has been incredibly impressed by their commitment to making a positive difference!

In D&T, Year 3 are learning to make their own sandwich boxes! Last week, they designed their own packaging, carefully considering the different colours and themes they wanted to use. Miss Court, Miss Carvosso and Miss Bibi are so excited to see their designs come to life!

On Sunday the 3rd of March, it will be World Wildlife Day! The children celebrated this special day by completing a scavenger hunt and creating awareness posters to display at home!
