If we want children to respect us, we must respect them too. 🙌

“Children still need a childhood with dirt, mud, puddles, trees, sticks and tadpoles” - Brooke Hampton

Ah, dandelions, how we love/dislike you!
Some of us love your pop of yellow, the role you play for pollinators, and the fun of blowing your puffy seeds to the wind.
But those in search of the "perfect" green lawn have (ahem) different sentiments.
Did you know, however, that dandelions actually help the health of your lawn?
Did you know that dandelions "evolved about 30 million years ago and have likely been an important source of food and medicine for people since the beginning of humanity"? (AP)
And did you know that you can eat all parts of the dandelion? For example, you can (and possibly even already do) eat their leaves in salads. And you can use any of their parts to make tea -- either from the petals (delicate, sweet flavor), roasted roots (smoky, almost coffee-like taste), or leaves (herbaceous and astringent).
Next time you see a dandelion, think twice about calling it a common w**d. And consider leaving it as a part of a healthy yard! Your neighbors might just grow to love them too.
