***HEAT STROKE AWARENESS***
We hope everyone is enjoying the mini heat wave we seem to be having. While it is unusually warm we just want to remind you to take care with pets in the sun.
*Do not leave any dogs in cars.
*Try to walk in the morning or evening when is it a little cooler
*Always make sure pets have access to shade and cool water
*Do not take dogs on long walks in the sun without rest or shade.
*Be especially careful with brachycephalic breeds which find it harder to keep cool and regulate their temperature.
*If your pet is white or has areas of little hair cover it is safe to apply some suncream to these areas to protect from sunburn.
If you think your dog or pet may be suffering from heat stroke call your vet straight away.
