Last Friday, some of our older children took part in Bikeability Level 1 Cycle Training. They learnt how to maintain their bike, glide smoothly, brake and stop safely, pedal control and ensure an awareness of surroundings. The instructor said that the Stanbridge children were amazing and I am looking forward to presenting them with their certificates in Celebration Assembly this week. Congratulations on passing Level 1.
Stanbridge Lower School
Welcome to Stanbridge Lower School. We are a small, friendly and inclusive setting; nurturing and developing the individuality and needs of each child.
Our school links strongly with the lives of our children, parents and the local community.
Operating as usual
A belated Happy New Year to you all....we are now in our second week back after the Christmas holidays and our younger children have been developing their fine and gross motor skills, while our Y2 children loved the 'Ice Kitchen' this afternoon! Brrrrr.....a little chilly!!
And that's a wrap...Christmas Nativities and Performances at Stanbridge were truly special. See a selection of our fabulous performers....more coming to our website soon.
Lots of fun taking part in the Stanbridge Santa Dash in our Christmas or Winter jumpers! More photos coming to the website soon!
We were all blown away by our courageous pianists today...they took the stage with skill, confidence and pride. Golden ticket winners all round!🤩
Winter Wonderland hosted by our PTFA has been a huge success - thankyou to all of our families who supported this fundraising event and to our dedicated PTFA - it was even more special than last year. For more photos, please visit latest news on our website.
Let's get sporty....well done to our Year 3 & 4 children who participated in the Sportshall Athletics competition. Super smart, super talented and super sportsmanship....as always our children demonstrated great determination and perseverance! Thankyou to Mrs Brewer and one of our volunteers for supporting with this event.
Upside down rainbow smiling down on Stanbridge yesterday - captured by the lovely Mrs Patterson!
Loving Stanbridge in the snow!
We would like to say a great big 'Stanbridge Thankyou' to our PTFA who have purchased some new playground equipment for the children. The play leaders are very excited and have been organising the equipment at play times for the children to enjoy! Thankyou so much for continuing to support these events, so we can give our children the best opportunities.
Children at Stanbridge Lower are always trying to be great citizens. 'Choose Respect' was this year's anti bullying message, so the School Council led an assembly and we all put on odd socks to remind ourselves that it's important to celebrate our differences. Later that week, we supported Children in Need with a Non-School Uniform day and raised £100.30 Thankyou for everyone's support with these events!
This time last week, we were hosting our remembrance exhibition. The children totally immersed themselves in this topic; Yr2,3,4 enjoyed a visit to RAF Hendon, some of our Yr children attended the local Remembrance service and others were busy getting ready for the exhibition. Thankyou to our families for supporting this special event. Visit out website for more photos.
Thankyou to all of the children who sent in entries for the Pumpkin Patch and Scarecrow Gallery. They are so creative and our volunteers are having a hard time choosing winners! They will be announced in the Harvest Assembly this week.
Another fabulous week here at Stanbridge...our Yr3&4 boys took part in a friendly football festival and were great sports ambassadors for the school, our new children in Pre-School and Reception are settling in well and of course lots of learning happening in Forest School to support children's wellbeing.....making boggarts, building dens and using blackberry juice to create prints. A very happy school.😀
Thankyou to those involved in making the Stanbridge Village Fete 2024 lots of fun, but particularly to our wonderful PTFA who hosted some great stalls to raise money for our school - the school raised £418.40. It was great to see so many of our families there and you can see from the photos, the children had the best time!
The staff at Stanbridge Lower School are looking forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday.......I wonder if you have grown as much as our sunflowers!
