Year 5 have been very busy since our last post! Hill rolling, trekking, meditation, mounting biking, pre-Mass singing practice, prayer time in the forrest and a disco! We are not sure how they have managed to fit it all in but they have had a fantastic time and made many happy memories. We are looking forward to hearing all about it when they get back to school later on today - We're sure they are going to be very tired.

Our Stretch Your Imagination Day is on Thursday 27th June 2024.

This is a whole school event where children are invited to come into school dressed as anything they want to (they are encouraged to use their imagination to come up with an idea).

The costume can be home made or something you already have at home.

On Saturday, Year 3 received their First Holy Communion at St Marie's Church. The children behaved incredibly well and looked very smart during this Catholic milestone. We would like to thank the parish for a lovely service and for providing a beautiful cake and refreshments. We would also like to say thank you to all of the parents and everybody who attended the service for their continued support. It was a wonderful day. We are very Proud!

Just a reminder that we will be taking donations for our Bag2School collection on Friday 7th, Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th June. Thank you!

We would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to our amazing PTA. Our Year 6 children received their leavers hoodies this week. They were really pleased with them and they looked fantatic!

After half term, Nursery came back to a surprise! Their butterflies had come out of their cocoons! We had four caterpillars that turned into butterflies. They were very excited to release them and watch them fly away.

We would like to thank everybody again for the beautiful flowers that were sent in before half term. After we had finished with them, Mrs McCubbin kindly took them to a local care home - Overslade House, to be shared out between the residents.

Today we gathered as a school community to adorn Mary with flowers. Our Minnie Vinnies and Prayer Leaders led collective worship and we joined together to sing our Magnificat hymn. We were very lucky with the weather and the children behaved beautifully. A huge thank you to everybody who sent in flowers.

On Monday, children in Reception were joined by the Reception class from English Martyrs School for a special ‘Teddy Bears’ Picnic’ themed day. The children had great fun engaging in a variety of themed activities such as creating bears with playdough, natural materials, and paint, acting out ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ on our stage and puppet theatre and even going on a ‘bear hunt’ obstacle course. They also enjoyed sharing their day with their special stuffed friends and eating a picnic lunch together. As a memento of the day each child received a new teddy bear friend to take home. The day was a great success and the children behaved beautifully.

🌸🌺🌷🌼May is the Month of May🌼🌷🌺🌸

Pope John Paul II said, "Today we begin the month dedicated to Our Lady, a favourite of popular devotion. In accord with a long-standing tradition of devotion, parishes and families continue to make the month of May a 'Marian' month, celebrating it with many devout liturgical, catechetical and pastoral initiatives!"

Post your prayer and devotions in the comments below and/or share this post on your facebook/instagram newsfeed.

In May, we express our devotion to Mary through:

🌸 Litany of Loretto
🌺 The Regina Coeli
🌸 Medals
🌺 The Rosary
🌸 May processions
🌺 Marian hymns
