The last few weeks have seen the children put their sporting skills to the test in a series of tournaments. First up, huge congratulations to the Y3/4 and Y6 teams who took part in the inter-school cricket tournament last week. Lots of fun was had and some fantastic cricket played ensuring top spot on the podium for both our Sherston teams who won ALL their games. ππππ

The children enjoyed a wonderful spread for their Christmas dinner yesterday. Thank you to the cooks and helpers and, also, a big shout out to Friends of Sherston School for providing the beautiful hand made goody bags (as a more environmentally friendly alternative to crackers) and to The Midcounties Co-operative in Sherston and Aldi UK in Malmesbury for their generous donations to these.
We'd like to say a big well done and thank you to the Friends of Sherston School. Their tireless work and creative ideas have brought us lots of fun fundraising events this term all of which have raised significant amounts for the school. This success would not have been possible without the support and donations from our whole school community so thank you all.
You know Christmas has really started when the Christmas jumpers come out and today we had a school full of them π.
Wishing everyone a very happy weekend and, if you haven't had a chance to make a Christmas Jumper Day donation, you can still do so via ParentPay. All proceeds are being split between Friends of Sherston School and Save The Children.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas here and we are really looking forward to all the festive fun we have planned. Happy December everyone and thank you Hortico plant centre for the beautiful treeπ²
Today our numbers nearly doubled as we were joined by over 120 'crazy' bears π». These bears put on quite a show in their fantastic fancy dress in honour of Pudsey and Children In Need. Well done to everyone for the creative costumes, I think it is safe to say the bears had a great day. Donations can still be made through the ParentPay Children In Need page (link in comments).
This weekend we were treated to the children's wonderful creations at the 'Box of Delights' exhibition as part of the Sherston Arts Festival. Thank you to Sherston Arts Festival for organising and inviting us to take part and well done to all the children whose imaginative ideas for their shoe box delights and firework pictures were very much enjoyed by all the community.
We are very proud of our Y6 pupils and the passion and enthusiasm they have put in to their work on climate change. They have shared some great ideas with the rest of the school on how to reduce our impact on the environment, from walking to school to reducing waste in packed lunches, they have even written a song to help us remember their top tips!
