Your body will always be changing as you get older...
It’ll never look exactly the same as it once did, or function exactly the same as it once did, no matter how much you wish it were different.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The trouble is, we’re brought up to think we should look and be a certain way… the culture we live in has a certain “ideal beauty” (which happens to be different from other cultures btw) or ideal way of being… and as human beings we are naturally designed to want to be accepted and “fit in” to society.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So it’s not surprising if you start to feel ashamed of your body for not looking how you want it to look, or not performing how you want it to perform the older you get. But no amount of self loathing and punishing your body is going to change it into what you want.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The first step is self-acceptance and self-compassion. To accept your body as it is, for what it is, right now. Compassion for how you feel, and self-forgiveness for how you’ve treated your body, probably not in the best way.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Punishing and hating your body isn’t working, it’s just making you feel worse about yourself, so you may as well start to accept your body for what it is, and start to be kind to it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The second step is to start looking after your body and treating it with love. This isn’t necessarily easy though and can take a long time (I speak from experience!), which is why I’m a Body Confidence Coach 🥰

Only once you learn to love yourself as you are, you can create a healthy relationship with yourself and make positive changes for your highest good.

Be proud of your body for all it’s got you through. It’s still here, still functioning, even though you haven’t treated it with respect or kindness over the years. If you really think about it, your body is pretty remarkable. Start treating it with the kindness and respect it deserves x

This is the stuff that makes you feel happy and loved by you. So much so, that you don’t need love from anyone else to feel worthy or valued. Love from others just becomes a bonus 🥰

✨There are 5 love languages:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤️Physical touch
This would be things that make your skin and body feel good, such as having a massage, a spa day, a bubble bath with candles, doing yoga, snuggling in a soft blanket…
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤️Acts of service
This is when you feel good by doing things for yourself such as tidy/clean your home, getting things ticked off your to-do list, scheduling, planning and organising stuff, doing charitable work.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤️Words of affirmation
This is when you feel good just by being kind to yourself with your thoughts and seeing/reading/listening to words of encouragement, such as an empowering book, inspirational podcast, telling yourself empowering statements you’d love to believe, such as “I am beautiful” or “I can do this”, reading positive messages & testimonials from clients, journaling your thoughts.

❤️Quality time
This is your main love language if you love being in your own company and spending time enjoying your hobbies, such as meditating, being creative (e.g. painting), exploring somewhere new or spending time in nature, taking yourself on a date.

❤️Giving & receiving of gifts
Maybe you feel best when you’re gifting yourself things that spark joy, or treating yourself to things, such as spending money on your hobbies or things you love, going shopping, treating yourself to a holiday, investing in your education, or using arts and crafts to make yourself something.

It’s also very healthy to let out your emotions.
Although it can feel really difficult dealing with emotions if you’ve spent your life bottling them up.
But emotions are supposed to be expressed and felt and processed, otherwise negative energy gets stored in your body and can manifest as illness, ailments (even body aches or headaches), or negative feelings such as resentment etc.
So don’t be afraid of letting your emotion out, and if you need a good cry, have a good cry! If you need to get rid of some anger, do some boxing! If you feel stressed, go for a walk or run. It’s healthy. And once you let it out and process those feelings, you’ll feel better in the long run.

I bloody love my clients!!
I have a few clients at the moment who have chosen my photography and coaching package as they’re not loving their body or appearance and are ready to change that and feel more self-confident.
One of my lovely clients (let’s call her Miss A) has really amazed me. She came to me feeling quite low and sad, stressed out and moody, really disliking her body. She had a massive binge eating problem to the point she’d started to feel a bit embarrassed by it. She desperately wanted to learn to love herself and stop putting herself down.
After just her first free clarity coaching consultation, she’s completely changed her attitude and started taking ACTION!
In a couple of weeks Miss A has already:
- figured out her love language and saboteurs (and got her boyfriend to do the same, which they found helped them to connect more),
- got in touch with her doctor and someone I put her in touch with about binge eating
- started a food diary and has started cutting out foods that made her feel bad
- started a new gym membership
- started talking more kindly to herself and felt better as a result
- AND her boyfriend and family have started to notice a positive change in her and benefited from her positive vibes (self-love is the opposite of selfish!!)
In a free clarity call we figure out which areas you’re lacking and need to focus on most (e.g. self-belief, self-esteem/self-worth, self-compassion, loving & accepting yourself, self-care, rest & relaxation, healthy eating & drinking, exercise/movement) and create an action plan to start improving those areas 🙌🏻

✨💛 Cacao Ceremony
Yesterday I went to the loveliest cacao ceremony hosted by
I arrived feeling a bit tired, a bit crabby & hormonal and looking forward to having some me time.
I left feeling grounded, energised, connected and 100% better than when I arrived!
Ginny holds such beautiful space and truly honours the indigenous practices and ceremony of the cacao origin.
I would highly recommend the experience and I’m already looking forward to the next one!

✨You ARE more than what you look like✨
I know this statement can be hard to understand or accept when you’re in a place of hating how you look…

Your appearance does not define who you are. It’s your beauty on the inside that makes you beautiful on the outside.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Have you ever noticed a “classically beautiful” person, who on first impression looks beautiful, but when they start to speak or show their personality, you realise they’re not that attractive after all?
Or maybe someone who society wouldn’t class as “classically beautiful” but there’s just something about them that you find really attractive? Maybe they have a beautiful soul?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you start to focus on the good qualities of your soul, your character, and who you WANT to be (not who you’ve been conditioned to be), then your true beauty will start to shine.

You’ll find that when you make a conscious effort to love yourself more, you’ll start treating your body with more kindness and respect, you might eat healthier food, you might make more effort to dress well for your body shape, or create a look that makes you feel more confident.
