We use props in our dance classes to make learning more engaging and fun, helping children connect with the dance themes in a tactile and visual way. Props also enhance motor skills, coordination, and creativity as children explore different movements and interactions.

So proud of Ava-Mae for completing all 14 dance styles with me. She has now collected all her stars on her sticker reward chart ⭐ Her nana has been bringing her to my Tuesday classes for the past 2 years. What an achievement! Lucky for us Ava is going to stay with us in class a little longer before she starts school in September 🤗. A class for our pre-walkers which includes, movement exploration through body part awareness, strength, rhythm and stretch work. We explore language development, resistance and spatial awareness through fun dance and social interaction. 🤗

We explore different dance styles from around the world. What's more, we use lots of props including ribbons and hula hoops, all set to our own original music. 🎶

Did you know that crossing the midline improves brain development in children?
This refers to the ability to reach across the imaginary line down the middle of the body, with your arms or legs crossing over to the opposite side.
We cross the midline many times in our classes🕺
At home you can practice touching your toes, shaking or moving props as we do in class (up high, down low, to the left and to the right) to continue to develop this fundamental skill.
This skill aids reading, writing, putting their shoes on and lots of day to day activities including dancing 🕺💃

It is lovely to see my diddi dancers grow over time and watch them develop their dance skills, confidence and show their personalities 🥰
I'm glad I get to be a part of your little ones journeys. We are one big dance family 💗💙💚

In our dance classes, using a pink and blue pom pom helps children learn colours as they visually identify and differentiate between the two. Additionally, holding a different-colored pom pom in each hand aids in understanding right and left, as children associate specific movements with each hand's corresponding color. This interactive approach not only enhances coordination but also lays the foundation for cognitive development, making learning fun and multisensory.

Here's Ellie at her first diddi dance class and then her last class with me this week as mummy goes back to work today. 🥰 Ellie has developed so much in class with me and it's been a joy to watch her grow. I want to say a special thank you to Ellie's mummy Lynsey, for being a big cheerleader for me. Always telling lots of parents about my baby sessions and bringing so many new babies into class. I will miss you both so much and hope to see you again soon! 🤗 Love Kirsty x
