Last week, Blue Coat Church of England School hosted its annual Prizegiving, a joyful celebration of student achievement across the academic year.

The evening was filled with proud moments, heartfelt stories, and inspiring voices. Highlights included a powerful speech from Christian Paralympian Karé Adenegan, who shared her journey of faith, perseverance, and recently completing her PGCE in Secondary History. Alumni Jordan and Wesley, known from The Voice, opened the event with soulful performances, while members of Blue Coat’s original cohort returned to present awards alongside Reverend Canon Richard Hibbert and The Very Reverend John Witcombe.

Deputy CEO Rob Darling presented the Inspire Education Trust Award to Daniel Crowther for exemplifying the values and excellence we strive for across the Trust.

Congratulations to every student recognised, and to the entire Blue Coat team for delivering such a memorable and meaningful event.

One of the messages at the heart of Refugee Week is the idea of Simple Acts – small everyday actions that anyone can take to stand with refugees and build stronger, more connected communities.

These acts might seem small, but they can have a big impact.
