Yesterday students in Years 7,8,9 and 10 who attend the Ivy League programme after school, had the unique opportunity to hear directly from Fran & Tom at The University of Cambridge. Students listened to information about the different amazing degree courses on offer and what student life could be like with the chance to ask questions about the best GCSEs and A level subjects they need to study should they wish to attend Cambridge in the future.🏫
Thank you Fran & Tom for your time! University of Cambridge 💚

💚Chosen Charity - Tiptree First Responders
If you suspect a diabetic person to have particularly high or low blood sugar levels, you can test it by first pricking their finger. Then, get a small dot of their blood on a specialised card by simply tapping the card to the blood, not smearing it. This can then be inserted into a machine which gives precise levels of glucose in the blood. Anything below a 4 or above a 9 is concerning, and anything in between is exactly as it's meant to be. The sharp used to prick the person's finger must be disposed of properly.

A simple position that could save your life!!
You may have heard about the recovery position, but do you know how to do it?
If someone has collapsed, the first thing you should do is check their airways to make sure nothing is blocking it, and try to remove any blockages. Then, bring the right leg up and move it over the left leg, making sure they do not have anything sharp in pockets before hand. This will turn them onto their side.During this, keep in constant communication with them so you are aware of any changes in consciousness.

Kevin and Charlotte came in from Tiptree First Responders to talk about their charity. They explained how many different things in their kit bag worked and how they responded to emergency situations. This really benefited 10s as they now understand how serious Kevin and Charlotte’s work throughout the community is.
