Say hello to the new way of learning📱

This week we helped launch SkillSeeder - the new marketplace app for in person or online training.

A first for Scotland, the app is a “one-stop-shop” for skill seekers to find courses, workshops or 1:1 training and allows skill sharers, whether they are professional or non-professional, to advertise their services in one place.
This looks like an interesting app being launched by SkillSeeder. A different way to train and be trained ...

Definitely worth a wee look😄

Wow, how time flies! Today we're celebrating 2 years of SkillSeeder! What a journey it has been so far! 🥳

Our business started with putting an idea forward to a CivTech 5 Challenge during the pandemic. Fast forward 24 months and we have fully developed a solution that is now actively benefiting people all over Scotland by improving access to training.

Thank you to those in The Scottish Government and CivTech that and have helped steer SkillSeeder; to our challenge sponsors and partners Lantra Scotland for all their support and guidance, and for believing in us, and to all the amazing training providers who have joined the platform along the way.

We're thrilled to now offer over 6,500 online and in person courses, and to be delivering new government funded training opportunities, with over 1,000 people awarded funding so far in 2022.

Exciting times are ahead for our business as we embark on the next chapter in our story. We're now in the process of developing Captis by SkillSeeder - a new trainer management system, which will make the delivery of training more seamless. 💕What a great article from SAMH - Scotland’s national mental health charity, about looking after our mental health…

‘We all have mental health, just as we have physical health, and it’s important that we take the time to look after it.

Yet YouGov research shows that around a quarter of us never do.

😌 There are lots of things we can do every day to support our wellbeing. The New Economic Foundation suggests that there are five ways to better wellbeing, and learning is one of them.

- Learning enhances your self-esteem and confidence, and can be a great way to meet new people.

- Sign up for a class and learn something new
Rediscover an old interest, such as cooking or gardening

- Take on a new challenge to make or fix something’

Visit the SAMH website to read the full article (link in comments). Or, if you would like to learn a new skill simply search for a course on the SkillSeeder website to find suitable training near you. 👇👇
