Understanding how the brain processes emotions is a key part of our Stable Relationships programme. When a horse is faced by threat their automatic response is red zone - fight/flight/freeze. But humans can develop strategies to keep us in the calm blue zone.

The Cavalier Centre are now delivering our course!
Stable Relationships is a 12 week emotional wellbeing programme for young people. Over the course we complete a range of classroom and horse based activities that help us to understand the way we process emotions.

Happy Birthday to Stable Relationships! We are officially 5 years old. We celebrated with this amazing cake-thanks Dawnie's Cakes! We would also like to say a huge thanks to Telford Equestrian Centre, who make all our activities possible, and have the best ever horses and ponies (especially Bilbo and Solo and Digby and Lilly and Pepper)!

Great to see that the Youth Sport Trust are encouraging the use of the Primary PE and Sport Premium to support Emotional Education for students! Our sessions are an inspiring mix of Physical and Emotional Education, so why not come and meet the horses to see what they can teach your children?
It is a little known fact that we also offer group drumming sessions. Drumming has been shown to improve concentration, and memory; and to promote feelings of calm and connection. Get in touch for more details.

A lot of our work is based on these teachings and the horses help us make the teachings really clear, so they can be transferred into school environments to help children maximise their learning potential.

A lot of our work involves teaching these ideas to children, young people and their staff with the experiential help of the amazing horses.
"Instead of waiting until a child is hiding under a table and then trying to talk them through breathing exercises, Morris suggests taking a preventative approach. She recommends teaching children about how their brains work and then creating areas within your classroom where children can go to self-regulate."

Our leadership group did great today. They helped the horses teach children all about emotions. We also had the end of term raffles with the YES (you’re extra special) notes. Happy Easter everyone!
