Hi to all parents and teachers!

I work for a healthcare agency supplying care staff into supported living and residential homes for vulnerable children, adults and elderly 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

I have a lot of clients with residents in self isolation. Some with a little understanding of what is happening... but some with none what so ever and at the moment struggling to understand why they are being locked away!

I want to supply as many drawings of rainbows or sunshine as physically possible into as many residents rooms as possible!!

All I ask is your children or even yourselves get creative........!! 🥰

Paint, draw, write anything that can brighten up someone’s day...... stories and poems wrote can be read to them by our carers😊

I can collect artwork as I drive so please let me know if you are able to help me collect as much as possible in the coming week ❤️🌈
Thankyou to all of you x
Extra safe on the walking bus this morning xx thank you all

Primary School 3-11 Years old, Wellington, Telford, Shropshire

Operating as usual

Today Years 5 and 6 listened to a talk about railway safety today from the British Transport Police. We discussed how damage could be caused and the disruption this causes to people’s lives. We learnt about how serious accidents can occur from small acts of thoughtlessness. We watched a video with some examples of things that could go wrong. These near-misses were discussed more in class.
Did you know trespassing on the railway tracks is a serious offence and can incur a £1000 fine?
Unfortunately around 60 deaths occur each year due to people on the tracks.

Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at Ercall Wood for the ‘Humanutopia’ event. It involved team building activities with Year 9 and 10 students. The children were respectful, impeccably behaved and a credit to Wrekin View.
Ask your child the answer they gave to the question about the one food they would eat every day for a whole year!!
Kind regards,
A very proud Year 5 team :)

The Community Café at Wrekin View Primary School will be open from Monday 26th July on weekdays, 10-2, for 2 weeks.

Breakfast and lunch will be available on a ‘Pay If You Can’ basis. Anyone can come along and eat, just pay what you can afford, no set prices. All monies will be reinvested into the food support projects.

Thank you to those who have volunteered a few hours to come and help….VOLUNTEER SPACES STILL AVAILABLE! If you know you will be at a loose end, let us know and Russell will help keep you busy in exchange for a sausage bap or a slice of cake. Don’t worry, I’m not cooking, front of house only for me😉

On Monday 26th July we have the lovely Atia, from Zainz Catering (she sells at Greenfields Farm Shop every fortnight, you might have seen her) coming to the café to cook for us. Chicken Curry, Veg Curry, rice, samosas and onion bhajis. Honestly, she is a fab cook and it is so kind of her to give us her time and her experience. If you fancy coming to join us, please pop in and say hi.

Due to weather conditions and forecasts the decision has been made to close Wrekin View for ALL pupils tomorrow (Monday 25th January).

This decision has been made in line with all LCT schools.

Online learning will continue and will be avaialble for everyone who can access it.

I will post a new update tomorrow.

Stay safe and take care.

Please find attached the latest letter from the trust, and the key messages

Stay at Home 🏡
As we are in a lockdown, the key message is to stay at home. We are open for vulnerable learners and parents of key workers, but we are reaching capacity to keep numbers small while also offering lessons for home and school. It will be the schools discretion as to whether each child would be considered for a school place.

Home Learning 🏡🏡📝📝
Each Year group has 1 teacher to deliver lessons to the class and the other year group teacher will deliver online lessons at home. This means if your child accesses the online lessons, it will be as close as possible to the teaching if they attended. I am aware there are some teething issues, so please keep in touch with the teachers and we will help as much as possible.

Laptops 💻🖥📳
We are in the process of distributing laptops to families that have a limited number of devices. Thank to one of our parents who has contacted local business centre's to see if anyone has IT equipment to donate to the school.
Please make sure you have completed the online survey so we can prioritise allocation of equipment as it becomes available.
Data Wifi ⚙📱
Another issue with remote learning, is data and wifi. I am able to request 4G routers, Wifi data and unlimited mobile data for some networks. This is something that we will push out more next week. Please contact us if this is becoming an issue for you.

Free School Meals🍛🍝🧆
The ordering of Meal vouchers is taking much longer than I would have liked. The delay has been with the DfE activating an account so we can order the vouchers. I have been told that this is happening today, so vouchers will be ordered on Monday 11th January. I will keep you all updated.

Thank you for the fantastic comments and support. Please stay safe.

Government Announcement

Dear all, You will have seen the message that All schools are to close for all pupils expect Key Worker and Vulnerable Children until February half term. Wrekin View will be opening for Nursery, Key Worker and Vulnerable children, and all other pupils will be offered online learning. I am sure that you appreciate this is going to be a sizeable task in arranging.

Therefore the decision has been made that School will be closed for all pupils on Tuesday 5th January to allow staff to make all the necessary arrangements for pupils.

This is another difficult decision, but I hope that this will make the the reopening and educational offer for all pupils the best it can be.

I appreciate this may cause some inconvenience, but I hope that you understand the late notice and position this has a put the school in.

1. We will send out a request for Key Worker Status for parents to complete
2. We will identify and notify parents of vulnerable pupils that their child can attend school.
3. Nursery and Daycare will be made ready for pupils to attend.
4. Information regarding home learning will be made available to all other pupils to start as soon as possible.

We will be available to answer any questions or concerns that you may have.

Regards, best wishes and stay safe.

School Reopening.

Dear parents and Carers.

Can you wish you all a happy new year and a safe 2021.

Some of you have already contacted me about plans for opening this term.

We are monitoring the government guidelines and that I will continue to check for updates and changes.

The current guidance from the Government is that Primary Schools are to open as normal.

This means children will return on Tuesday 5th January.

Can I ask that you please keep alert for updates and share them as I release them.

Kind Regards

Mr. Pembleton.
