This week the babies have been exploring colours, they have enjoyed creating their own representations of rainbows choosing their own colours and painting tools.
The children demonstrated lovely sharing skills, they also had a colourful fun morning in the shredded paper tuff tray, as well as creating structures using the coloured stars. 🌈🎨🥰

Pre-school had some very special visitors on Friday - Police Officers Lynne and Trudy came to visit!
The children loved looking inside the police car and learning all about what the police do, as well as asking lots of questions.

This morning Stacey and the babies have had a wonderful time re-enacting we're going on a bear hunt.
The children enjoyed exploring the story through their senses, Stacey did a brilliant job of bringing the story to life, so much enthusiasm!🐻🐾🐾

This morning the Daisies children decided they wanted to play football. Lucy who has previously played for AFC Telford United and Aberystwyth University woman's team was more than happy to join in the fun and teach the children some skills!

The Dandelion children have had a fun morning, making strawberry and banana milkshakes. They showed good control in using a knife to cut up the banana and strawberries and some of the older children were able to peel the banana. The children then helped to pour themselves a nice cold yummy shake after playing in the sunshine! 🍓🍌

The Rising 3's children have shown excellent concentration skills this morning. (you can see it in their faces 🥰) They have made a great attempt at cutting along pre drawn lines, showing good hand eye coordination and scissor control. Well done everyone!

The babies have had a lovely week in the sunshine, they have been developing their physical skills and searching for mini beasts. They also picked some daisies and explored them using their senses.

They have had an absolutely splashing time this morning in the water trays! The children did some lovely sharing and turn taking. 🥰

The pre-school children were fantastic during their sports day this morning, we are super proud of them. We hope all of the parents that attended had a wonderful time too. 💕

We would like to share some photographs of some very special visitors to pre-school yesterday. The children were very pleased to welcome two of the residents from The Priory Nursing Home to come and play. 🥰 Claire from the Priory brought our lovely friends Graham and Betty, accompanied by Betty’s daughter for the afternoon.
First we had a little game of Bingo together, before doing some lovely colouring pictures. The children were happy to receive some wonderful pictures from another resident who we often see, Bob. Thank you Bob, we have sent some pictures back for you with Claire. 😊
Afterwards we had a very special tea party all together in the garden, where we sang an early ‘Happy Birthday’ to the beautiful Betty who will be 103 years old next week! 🎂🎉

The children then treated our guests from the Priory to a performance of some of the graduation songs that they have been practicing, well done pre-school, you sounded amazing. (The parents are in for a wonderful treat at the end of term)💓

This week in the baby room we have been focusing on the theme nursery rhymes. Our Invitations to play have included building a wall for humpty dumpy, developing our gross motor skills and social interactions. We have also role played doctors and helped miss polly and her dolly to feel better. We created hand print incy wincy spiders and also helped to free incy from his Web.
We interacted with old McDonald and his farm, and helped to look after the animals, and finally we enjoyed singing 'row row row your boat' so much that we worked together to build our very own boat!

Continuing with our vehicle theme, today the pre school children have loved washing their own bikes with their sponges and soapy water.
They have also had so much fun looking at and washing a real car. We explored the outside of the car first and searched for numbers, letters and looked at the different parts. The children did so well at naming the different parts of the outside and inside of the car - They recognised the seat belt and car seat and understood why these must be used to stay safe. The children did a fantastic job of cleaning the car with their sponges and absolutely loved seeing how shiny it was afterwards. 🚗

In preschool yesterday, Faiza bought us some beautiful summer roses! We produced some excellent observational paintings of the flowers. With Holly, we identified the different parts of the flower, counted how many leaves were on the stem and talked through the size and shapes of the leaves and petals. 🌷🌹🥀
We used excellent scientific, comparative and mathematical language. We thought carefully about which colours we could see on the petals - this was quite tricky to paint as some of the roses were a lovely ombre! We talked about how to clean our paint brush between colours, after some of our colours mixed, in order to keep the paint colours nice and bright. 🎨
Some of our Rising Three's joined us in preschool for this, as part of their transition ready for preschool. What amazing artwork! 🥰

The Toddlers had a special treat this morning when our lovely new member of staff Faith brought in her ukulele and did some wonderful singing with the children.

Another group of lucky pre-school children have started their regular visits to the Priory Nursing home. The children walked from nursery beautifully and were welcomed by Claire who introduced them to the elderly residents. The children very much enjoyed colouring and chatting to everyone. All of the staff were super proud of how confident and polite the children were.

The children in Rising 3s have had a fun filled Coronation Celebration morning, which included role playing afternoon tea in the home corner, in preparation for our real one this afternoon!
The invitation to play was a street party outside Buckingham Palace, we also made crowns and some of the children built a beautiful palace from Duplo bricks. 👑🇬🇧🕌

The babies have been busy celebrating the Kings coronation this week, using the theme Red, White and Blue. Some of the activities include; making biscuits, and hunting for red white and blue objects in the tuff tray. 👑🇬🇧

For the final day of our sponsored sports week, we had another exciting visitor 'Coach Jo' who the children absolutely loved. She taught us some valuable football skills and the children thoroughly enjoyed her session. We would like to thank her and the team for supporting our sports week. ⚽️🥅🥰

The children in Dandelions had a wonderful visit yesterday, from some lovely firefighters from Wellington Fire Station.
They had a great time sitting inside the fire engine and loved spraying with the hose, as well as trying on the protective equipment.

The children in Pre-school have loved our 'dance-a-thon' activities today! This morning we watched some clips from the world championship rhythm gymnastics, we were amazed! We had a go at ribbon dancing ourselves. We also had a go at expressing our emotions through art, we listened to music and allowed our paintbrush to 'dance'.
This afternoon we had a special visit from Miss Leila and thoroughly enjoyed Baby Ballet! It was amazing to see the children listening so carefully, pointing their toes, and having lots of fun.

For our sponsored cycle today, our Pre School children have enjoyed learning how to use the pedals and how to be safe on the bikes. They have even completed a special driving lesson and test before gaining their very own drivers licences. They have all done super well and we have some very tired legs today! 🚲🥰

Today in Pre-school - day 2 of our sponsored sports week, we had our 'skipathon' and have loved learning how to safely use a skipping rope. We welcomed in one of the lovely parents (Ben's Mummy) who even taught us some tricks with the rope. Thank you so much for coming - the children loved it! 🥰

Yesterday in Pre-school, we began our sponsored sports week.
We started off with our 'yoga-thon.' Where completed various yoga activities and loved learning the names of the different poses. Our favourite was the yoga disco - we learnt lots of new moves!

The babies had a wonderful morning with The Farm on Wheels! Stella told us all about the animals and we enjoyed feeding and petting them. It was such a lovely experience for the babies, thank you very much for coming. 🥰

We thought we would share some photographs of the babies having great fun, during their animal themed activities last week. They went on a animal safari hunt around the garden, practiced their mark making skills using magic markers and enjoyed stomping the animals in the paint! 🐅🐆🦓🦍🐘🦛🦏🥰

This week in babies, we have been exploring travel and transport, utilising our senses to explore marks in paint using cars, making marks in sand, and creating a road and farming tuff tray!

We also went outside and moved around using our bodies as different methods of transport. We also marched like soldiers to the Grand Old Juke of York and Row, Row Row your Boat. 🎵 🚗🚜✈️💂🛶

The Daisies children have had so much fun this week, they have been busy with the play dough and plastic eggs creating marks and making patterns. They loved exploring the Spring themed tuff tray, finding all the animals and eggs hidden in the straw. They had great fun finding Easter themed objects in the shredded paper. Today they have even made time to make their own Easter nests, stirring, pouring and even tasting some as they were being made!!😀🐥

The toddlers have been doing activities based on their favourite story this week. 'Peace at last'. This morning they really enjoyed making bear toast! They cut up banana for the eyes and then spread butter onto the toast, after this they added sultanas for the bears nose. 🐻🥰
