The conditions were perfect this morning for the visiting Hot Air Balloon tether to take flight!

All of our children gathered outside to see the breath-taking spectacle. There were lots of squeals and gasps of excitement when the balloon lifted off the ground!

A few brave teachers volunteered to go up in the balloon, who got a great birds-eye view of our school site.

Thank you to the Virgin Balloon Flights team for making this such a fun, exciting and memorable day for everyone!
We're delighted to announce that two of our Upper School children have made it through to the final of the Shrewsbury School Art Competition, which is taking place tomorrow! πŸŽ¨πŸ–ΌοΈπŸ–ŒοΈ

What an amazing afternoon our children had at the Under 11 Hockey Tournament yesterday, at Wrekin College πŸ‘

Competing against a whole host of other talented schools, our Old Hall girls fought hard to take first place and our boys battled it out equally as hard to come in second!

There was some truly skillful play on show by both teams and it was a pleasure to watch you all on the pitch.

Well done! πŸ™Œ
The Under 9s played brilliantly throughout the Telford and Wrekin Mixed TAG rugby tournament, yesterday. πŸ‰

We are delighted to say that we are now Under 9 Telford & Wrekin Schools Champions. πŸ₯‡ Well done everyone! πŸ™Œ
What a fantastic way to end our series of music concerts, this Lent Term 🎢

We were treated to performances by our orchestra, brass ensemble and house band - The Small Furry Animals 🎸

The standard of music was incredible and we look forward to see you all play again, next term!

Just a drop in the ocean of support required by Ukrainian families at the moment. Old Hall parents and pupils gave generously and some of the children delivered supplies to a nominated collection centre in Wellington this morning.

To Ukraine with love! ❀️
Our foyer is full with donations for our Appeal! We want to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped support this cause.
Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed their rugby match against Prestfelde School Shrewsbury, yesterday!

What an overwhelming and exciting day for all at Old Hall!

Speech Day was an incredible moment for all, with an emotional, yet uplifting goodbye to Year 6!

With fantastic speeches from each year, prizegiving and a performance from the Chapel choir, it was the perfect way to round up the year and end of term.

A huge thank you to all who came along and shared the event with us.

Good luck to all our year 6 pupils on your next adventure and we hope you all have a great summer!

Thank you to all who attended.

We had a fabulous, packed afternoon yesterday, starting with the burial of the Year 6 time capsule. Each pupil wrote a letter to their future self, along with what job they think they will have in 25 years time.

Following this we had the unveiling of the new bench and coronation plaque kindly donated by the parents of our Year 6 leavers.

And to end the day, we had a fantastic soirΓ©e of Year 6 music and a great display of their artwork!

It's been a busy Monday morning that all started with our fabulous morning music concert!

Concluding over 100 performances over the past school year, this one did not disappoint.

From piano, to drama, to a performance from our orchestra, the talent on show was a joy to watch and hear!

Well done, everyone!

This morning, Year 6 gave their very last performance in their Leaver's Assembly.

Drawing a close to their time at Old Hall, we went on a trip down memory lane and heard about various events that had happened throughout the years.

Thank you for a lovely morning, we are all so proud of how far you've come. We all wish you the best of luck in your secondary schools. They will all be lucky to have you.

Groups of Year 6 pupils took to the floor this afternoon to deliver their innovation project presentations.

In true Dragon's Den style, each group had to present their creation and business idea to a panel and face questions from both the panel and fellow pupils.

We saw some fantastic ideas and it was great to see each group handle challenging questions from the panel and floor.

Well done everyone, you delivered your presentations with such confidence πŸ‘

This year a brand new and exciting poetry competition took place at Old Hall. Every pupil either chose a piece of poetry to perform from memory, or wrote their own poems to share with the school in this fantastic event! The best performers were then chosen to take to the stage to perform their poems to the rest of the school and their parents.

It was incredible to see such a variety of poetry being performed. Well done to everyone who took part and to all of the winners from each year group. πŸ“–

Every child from Years 1-6 in school will be taking part in an exciting and engaging brand new competition here at Old Hall. Which will be taking place on Thursday 8th June. We ask that your child selects and learns a poem of their choice at home.

We would like you as parents to record your child’s performance. You have the freedom here to be as creative as you like! We would then like you to upload your child’s entry onto Flip which will be shared by Google classroom by Monday 22nd May.

After watching the children’s performances your child’s class teacher will then select five children when they will be given the opportunity to perform in front of their class. Once this has taken place, the teacher will then select two finalists who will be invited to perform their poem in front of the whole school and their families on the above date. πŸ“– πŸ“š
For more information please refer to the letter sent to parents. We can't wait to see the entries!
