Our jam-packed academic year drew to a close today with our exciting Celebration Day!
Featuring reflections from all year groups, a presentation of prizes, musical performances from both the Chapel Choir and musicians, this was certainly a fitting way to end another spectacular Old Hall year.
Thank you to all Old Hallians, parents, friends and staff for their support throughout the year and of course, goodbye and good luck to our Year 6 pupils as they move on to the next step of their education journey.
We hope everyone has a great summer!
The final Music Concert of the year was the Ensemble Concert🎼
We heard performances from the Old Hall Orchestra, Brass Group and Rock Band play multiple pieces from a variety of genres, including a brilliant performance of the Star Wars 'Imperial March'. It was a wonderful way to begin the day, and to end a fantastic year of Morning Music Concerts!
Our Year 6 parents and pupils were invited for a delicious afternoon tea after the Leavers' Service.
From a delectable selection of finger sandwiches, to an arrays of cakes and scones with fresh cream, everyone tucked in and had a fantastic time.
Today's Leavers' Service, attended by all pupils, staff and parents of our Year 6 pupils, included readings, hymns, prayers and a wonderful performance from our Chapel Choir.
Our Year 6 pupils each took a turn to tell us all about their favourite memory at Old Hall. From eating pizza in class to learn fractions with Mr Sturrock, to paddleboarding, to lots of funny moments with friends, it was such a pleasure to hear everyone's experiences.
It was a lovely service. Thank you to all who attended and a huge good luck to all our Year 6 pupils in the next step of their lives.
Year 6 have been dissecting eyes in Science👁️
As part of their topic on Light Theory, our pupils got hands on with an eye dissection yesterday. The dissection was a practical opportunity to identify the major parts of the eye that Year 6 have been discussing in their Science lessons.
Our Summer Fete raised over £1,300 for charity🎉
The Charity Committee chose three charities to split the donations to: Lottie’s Way , RSPCA (England & Wales) and The Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust . The children picked three worthy causes for the money from the Fete, to learn more about the important work of Lottie's Way, click here: https://lottiesway.com/
Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to put on a brilliant Fete, and to the representatives from Lottie's Way who kindly came to collect the cheque from members of the committee!
Huge congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 pupils for their amazing performances of Madagascar! 🦁 🦓 🦛 🦒
Performing twice, we were thoroughly entertained throughout and it was plain to see how hard everyone had worked to put on this show.
Well done, everyone! 👏
This morning, Reception had the pleasure of having some fabulous poems and stories read to them that were written by some of the Second From pupils from Wrekin College 📚
They all sat wonderfully and listened carefully to Wrekin's pupils and even asked some inquisitive questions about the literature 📘
Thank you for coming over, Wrekin!
Our Sports Day on Friday was a great success!
In the morning, Lower School competed in variety of running events, from a classic sprint to the crown race it was a brilliant morning of sport and camaraderie. It was Upper School's turn in the afternoon where our pupils competed individually and for their house in a series of track and field events. A huge thank you goes to everyone who helped make the day run smoothly.
Congratulations again to Cressage Squirrels for winning both the Lower and Upper School competitions!👏
We had a wonderful time at our super sunny Sports Day today! The day started with our Lower School children, followed by our very special picnic lunch and the Upper School children competing in their events in the afternoon.
It was fantastic to see the children giving their all for their Houses, and cheering on their peers. Of course, a massive thank you to all the parents who attended; we hope you had a lovely time!
We couldn't have done it without the help of our amazing student helpers; we are very grateful for all your help.
Special congratulations to Lower School and Upper School winners Cressage Squirrels! 👏

The U11 A and B Girls teams had a fantastic time at Wrekin’s Cricket Festival!
The B team made up of Year 5 girls played very well and were unlucky to lose one very close match. They progressed though to the 3rd and 4th play offs to finish 4th. The A team displayed some phenomenal team fielding and batting performances to remain unbeaten the whole Tournament. They were crowned champions playing a great match against Ellesmere College in the final.
Well Done to our Cricketers!👏
Yesterday afternoon our Under 11 Cricket teams were on form🏏
Two Under 11 teams hosted Wolverhampton Grammar School for an afternoon of Cricket in the sunshine. It was great preparation for the Prep Cricket Girls Competition at Wrekin College today!

Last week the Under 11 Girls Cricket team faced Birchfield. They played well, putting in a great performance coming home with the win. It is brilliant to see the team continue to improve and develop their game.🏏

Three of our Year 4 pupils have received Head send-ups in Art Club for their beautiful silhouette paintings. Well done to Rae, Francesca and Rubyn, great work!
Year 5 have been creating artwork inspired by their Greek Topic, scratching into their ink surfaces to reveal intricate Greek Pottery designs. Year 4 have been creating Islamic tiles, inspired by their recent visit to the mosque. Year 2 have created some brilliant pieces of work in their Art Club. They looked at imagery from Chinese culture such as vases and blossom trees for their inspiration.
