Inspired by their recent workshop about rockets, children from Reception-Year 2 have today built their own rockets. Challenged to design, decorate and build their rocket, the children had to problem solve, select resources and use their workshop knowledge to create the most aerodynamic rocket possible, with some fantastic results!

After a very successful term, Gymnastics club have been busy showing off their new skills on a range of apparatus. Having mastered the basic gymnastic shapes, the children have been busy practicing and refining their forward rolls, balancing and developing their 2 footed jump in preparation for vaulting. In recognition of their excellent efforts, the club ended with a session using colourful ribbons and created their own rhythms and movements to music, before then being awarded with a star of the week certificate for all who participated.

Children in Reception-Year 2 had a fantastic time designing and building their own space rockets at RAF museum Cosford today. After learning about the Space Race between the nations of the world, they headed into the hangar to learn about rockets and forces, which ended by trying to blast their rockets into the cockpit of a helicopter!

From Mrs Billinghurst, this is excellent!

Well done to the yr 5&6 girls who represented the school in the netball tournament at Stafford Prep. We had games against Salterford House (W 2- 0), Highclare (W 3-0), Crescent (D 3-3) Stafford Prep (W 2-1). It was lovely to see how the girls progressed throughout the day. I was particularly impressed how they were able to create space on the court and maintain possession. Well done - you were all amazing.

In Year 6 science we have been exploring the force of buoyancy. Today, they each built a ship of their own to carry as much cargo as possible. Taking turns, they place a cargo of marbles to test their design. We had a clear winner with one design holding over 300 marbles - nearly 200 more than their closest competition!
