Update …
Let the mayhem begin ….
Tonight was one of those truly magical evenings when the school pulled together to put on the most fantastic performance is Robin Hood.
Congratulations to all involved
Today all yr 5&6 girls took part in the ISA Rounders Competition at Stafford Grammar. We were up against some tough teams. In our 5 games we managed to get 2 wins. It was great to see how the girls started to use tactics to help minimise the scoring opportunities of other teams.
Last night Josh and Edward both competed at the Shropshire county junior schools swimming gala. They had qualified to represent Telford. Both boys swam so well. Edward made the final in the 25m backstroke finishing 5th in a very strong race. Both boys competed in the 4 x 25m freestyle and 4 x 25m medley relays. They made the final in both relays where they finished 4th in freestyle but they managed to get a 3rd place finish in the medley relay which got them on a podium finish. They should be so proud of themselves. Telford won over all against north Shropshire, Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth teams.
Both these boys represented our school to the highest standard and I am so proud of them and what they have achieved. A Huge well done to them both and so glad we were there to cheer them on.

We have been to Heathfield Knoll School and Nursery twice this week, first with Years 1&2 on Monday, then Years 3&4 on Tuesday.
Our children not only took part in a fantastic range of activities, but more importantly made new friends and chatted about themselves and their own interests.
Thank you to all of the staff for hosting us, and the warm welcome we received.
Well done to everyone who took part in the sport festival hosted by Haberdashers’ Adams this morning. The children took part in a range of throwing, running and jumping events is very hot conditions. It was lovely to see them improve on their performances.
Well done to our Superstars for today

And to finish the day off, a fantastic Lamda recital. Well done to all, and thanks to Mrs Molin and her fantastic team.
Well done to the children who attended the multi skills festival today. They worked extremely hard on the 8 activity stations, which were all based on different sports. A great afternoon was had by all.
Year 5 & 6 are currently on a school trip to ThinkTank in Birmingham! They look as if they are having an amazing time.
On Tuesday 11th June Year 3/4 welcomed Ali from the Shrewsbury Museum to tell them more about life in Ancient Greece. They handled artefacts from Ancient Greece, (most of which were replicas),and were like archaeologists discovering what they may have been. They talked about the first Olympics and did some activities which showed them about some of the ancient games. They also learned more about Athens and Sparta comparing life in both city states. Ali was most impressed with their knowledge and enthusiasm.
Well done to the children who went to the rounders competition. We came 2nd in our pool of 5 with a draw, 2 wins and a loss. Our fielding improved throughout the competition which was great to see.
Carnival day!
What an amazing day!
🌟The children worked so hard on all the decorations and characters for the floats. We had lots of lovely comments about how the work was all the work of the children.
🌟Thank you so much to all the staff for helping create the masterpieces and giving the children the opportunities to bring the Mr Men And Little Miss alive in their own way.
🌟The children were fabulous and the costumes and extra work at home was amazing. Thank you so much to parents and carers for supporting us and putting in so much love and time in to adding to the day.
🌟Thank you to Emma and Jake at Home Farm for providing us with the straw bales to keep our children safe.
🌟Thank you Ed at https://www.facebook.com/ceandesswolverhamptonltd for lending us your truck for the day and allowing us to make it into a wonderful float.
🌟Thank you Mark at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100069678016342 for being our very own Mr Grumpy and driving the truck for us.
🌟 Thank you https://www.facebook.com/newportshropshirecarnival and https://www.facebook.com/NewportShropshireTownCouncil for organising a brilliant day.
We had a fantastic day and for our first year we wanted the children to have fun and enjoy themselves. One of our Little Miss even made it into the Shropshire Star.
We won 2nd 🥈 Preschool and Nursery Float. An amazing accomplishment for our first year!

Just thoroughly tasty!
Well done to all the yr 5 & 6 pupils who took part in the athletics competition today. We were up against lots of tough opposition. Everyone showed great determination in their events. A special mention goes to JH who came 3rd in the cricket ball throw.
Great effort everyone.
Well done to our cricketers that we took to Wellington Cricket Club. They did really well in our first match and had a convincing win. It was a shame that the rest of the tournament was rained off.
Our budding cooks have followed Nick’s example and produced their own mud pies in forest school today. Looks like they have used all the food groups in their ingredients.
Wishing everyone a lovely holiday.
Today we took an upper KS2 and lower KS2 team to a Golfway competition in Telford. The competition was great fun with lots of points on offer at different stations. The children played some excellent golf, their chipping and accuracy in their putting improved so much. A fantastic effort off everyone and our yr 6 team secured 2nd place overall.
As some children from Year 6 were out representing the school at a Tri golf tournament, the remainder of Upper Key Stage 2 visited Haberdashers’ Adams, for a forensic science session in the lab.
The children worked in small groups to examine a range of evidence left by suspects of ‘The Missing Mug’. As the examined hairs and fibres under microscopes, performed chromatic testing and tested pH levels, they began to eliminate suspects, as well as inspecting fingerprints and handwriting.
After the mystery was solved, the children were then fortunate enough to be given a tour of the school’s library and spent time finding (and reading) their favourite books.
Children from Years 5 & 6 had a wonderful time exploring the grounds at Chetwynd Deer Park this week. After a short photography workshop, the children put their new knowledge to the test as they took a range of wildlife photographs, ready to choose just one entry each to be judged for the upcoming Newport Show.
Well done to the yr 5&6 girls who took part in the Telford and Wrein Schools Cricket Competition. We started with some very close games in the morning, after lunch we secured 2 great wins and a loss. It was great to see bowling improve throughout the day and achieve some 4's and 6's. Overall we finished in a very respectable 6th position.
Our Superstars this week. Well done!
Castle House's Archers are increasingly hitting the target at their weekly club. Indoors today due to the rain, the children's aim and technique is noticeably improving. The way the children have been helping and encouraging each other has been especially lovely to see.
