It's , and at Sandwell's Residential Centres we've been wondering whether residential learning providers could - or should - do more to connect visitors with nature.
ARE RESIDENTIAL CENTRES DOING AS WELL AS THEY COULD IN CONNECTING VISTORS WITH NATURE? With the unique opportunity that residential learning providers have in connecting visitors with nature, and ask whether we could - or should - do more.

"If you can get young people to succeed in any area of activity," Prince Philip said, "that sensation of success will spread over into a lot of others."
We agree.
It is appropriate that we should note the passing of Prince Philip.
One of his most enduring legacies is the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, founded in 1956 and still very active and relevant today.
Participants aged 14-25 gain the Award by completing volunteer work, learning physical activities and skills, and undertaking an expedition such as a mountain trek or a sailing trip. Each year over a million young people take part in the scheme, in more than 130 countries and territories worldwide.
We give thanks for his extraordinary contribution to the lives of young people.
Geoff's latest project at is this wonderful Viking Longship.
Felix from Ingestre will be making the case for arts and creativity tomorrow.
He'll discuss why experiencing the arts beyond the classroom can be used to enhance all other academic subjects as well as develop social mobility skills, bringing joyous experiences and enrichment to the lives of young people, and why, in especially these times of uncertainty, the arts and creativity are so important as a tool for learning to support young peopleβs well-being.
He'd love to see you there!

It was always on the cards that Pauline would make it in to the centre today! Here are a few pics from around a snowy Edgmond Hall courtesy of Fran, Pauline & Richard.
It also reminded us of Richard's blog back in June 2019 who said that winter residentials are the best because, amongst other things, it might even snow!

It's been a FROSTY one at the centre today, and Richard caught this great pic... BRRRR!
We'll be away now until January, so we wanted to wish you a VERY Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
