🌏CLIMATE COUNTDOWN ART🌍

As part of the climate action countdown, Y4 had lengthy, in depth discussions about the possibilities for the future of our Earth, with some concerns over the potential damage shared amongst the collective hope for change and sustainable improvements! From this, they created some fantastic pieces of art work for display in our new wing of school 😀

We’re lucky to have a fantastic team of teaching and support staff at Lawley Academy. A huge thank you to them for all they do everyday for our children! ⭐️

Here are some fabulous examples of Y6's reading journals. They use these to record their reading at home and school. This is today's effort during ERIC time (reading as a whole class). It's a great way of showing their understanding of character and story and they take such pride in their work. We are currently reading 'Wonder' by R.J. Palacio - they are hooked!

🏃‍♀️MATHS🏃‍♂️

In their maths lesson today, year 3 created and recorded their own data in their house teams and used the data to create pictograms! They thought carefully about what the value of each picture could be and presented their work beautifully in their books. Well done Y3, super work today.

To celebrate the King's birthday, Year 1 have looked at the King's life and family and created our own King Charles birthday collages with the King's favourite things. The children thought carefully about how in collages the pictures slightly overlap and were very creative in the placement of the photos. Well done Year 1 and happy birthday King Charles III.

This afternoon, children in Willow class have made posters to celebrate the King's birthday and the trooping the colour parade which will happen this weekend in our capital city, London! The children discussed the significance of the event and read a story about King Charles' life from the Little People, Big Dreams 📗🇬🇧

As part of the 'Great Big Green Week' Year 1 have been focusing on how we can look after our Earth. We took time to create a 'perfect earth' where all people and animals are happy. Year 1 thought that we should recycle to help achieve this and then the earth will be clean and safe!

WE ARE SO PROUD TO SAY WE WON!

This award not only celebrates the work we do, but will forever be our reminder of the moments of joy we create, share and have the pleasure to witness from both care home residents and pupils. It is truly indescribable to watch how primary school children can brighten the days of the residents and how, equally, the residents fill the children with exuberance and pride after each and every visit. This is work we feel immense pride to champion within our community.
