Meet Charlie, a shining example of resilience and determination 💫

As a farmer, Charlie's mental health took a toll, forcing him out of work. But he refused to let his circumstances define him. During his illness, Charlie pursued education and completed qualifications in various fields.

In 2018, he joined the BBO Herefordshire program, volunteering and training to regain lost skills. Despite mindful consideration of his mental health, Charlie's Key Worker guided him toward readiness for work. He started by volunteering at The Kindle Centre and participating in community events.

In 2021, Charlie found a full-time role at the Recycling Centre in Hereford, thanks to his acquired skills and the support of the Kindle Centre. His story proves it's never too late for positive change.

We can all draw inspiration from Charlie's journey during Mental Health Awareness Week and believe in the power of resilience and self-belief.

Zana says without Access To Work, it would be a challenge in any role for a Deaf person and extends her own personal thanks to all the amazing interpreters she works with to bridge the communication gap and make her role/workplace more accessible.

Amongst all of the many wonderful examples of how Landau has been able to help people into employment, here is one that is very close to home.

Kallen first started working at our Training and Enterprise Centre in Newstead on a work placement. This quickly led to an apprenticeship and two years later, Kallen is celebrating completing his Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification. Not only that, he has achieved a distinction! Congratulations!

Kallen is thrilled with the outcome and says it is his best achievement ever! He is now setting his sights on the Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification - fantastic news and another brilliant example of someone turning their life around with the support of Landau.
