Through these events students can explore options for life beyond college by interacting with alumni that have gone into further education or onto work in a range of careers and apprenticeships.

As it's the last day of term tomorrow (Thurs) and Christmas is right around the corner, we'll be holding another Christmas jumper day for all staff and students.
We'll be holding the event to raise money for Save the Children UK, donations are welcome in the Learning Centre by the Careers desk. Alternatively you can donate £5 by texting TEAMHUISH to 70050.

Collection of Bus Passes
If you have ordered a County Bus Pass, the pickup point for collection is from the IT Helpdesk (Beech Building).
You or your parent will receive an email notification that the pass has been delivered to college. Please note that the pass is not available until this email has been received. If a late application was sent e.g. after the 8th August it can take up to 14 days from the application date for the pass to arrive in college.
We have been notified by Somerset County that if a student does not have their pass yet, it is at the discretion of the bus company to allow students to travel without their County Pass and students should be prepared to cover cost of the ticket during the interim period in case.

Sri Lanka 2017
They've only been gone a week, but our students who have travelled to Sri Lanka have been making the most of their time.
From spending time at an elders home, getting to know the residents and running interactive session to stimulate their movement and creativity, their time was really appreciated.
They've also been spending time at a local school. They first started with presenting the school with a donation from Huish of laptops to improve the children's learning experience. They then ran sport sessions with Netball and Swimming, teaching new techniques and warm ups, before assisting the children with creative and science classes.
But that's only week one! There's more to come...
