Right,so I’ve been writing a bunch of new tunes for the next Capricorn 1 project .It kind of started over lock down and has continued pretty much through and beyond.I guess you’d categorise those compositions as a fusion of styles from rock funk to world music.

For those of you who also write I sympathise.It can be a pretty Lonely and frustrating time. Initially transforming ideas into actual pieces of music and with that comes periods of doubt and uncertainty as well as a whole bunch of other emotions, but as the music take shape a feeling of elation and s**t yeah this might just work.

My ears have really opened up over the years and the more I commit to writing the better I believe it gets.

I’m old and thick skinned enough now not to worry to much about what my counterparts think and to be honest I don’t really care about that.My goal is to reach like minded listeners.

I’m constantly astounded by the comments I get from people about my abilities and influences if they did there home work they’d know exactly where I’m coming from,but sadly that would require listening a quality that is sorely lacking today.

Anyway I’ll keep churning them out and hope for the best !

Having recently re discovered the Beatles and raiding the back catalogue it occurred to me that they must have risen like the rest of us from total obscurity to being the most recognised musical force in history.

Everyone knows the “Hamburg” story but upon their return to the Uk what venues did they perform at ?

Well,you may or may not be aware of them or even played at them yourselves.
(Hammersmith Odeon springs to mind)

I just wished I’d been aware of this back when touring myself (s**t man this is where the greatest band of all time appeared) but my youthful exuberance and ego clouded my judgment.. Better late than never I guess

Mogens Tune, by Altered States

This tune was written by Mogens Fosgerau a Scandinavia guitar player.

This recording was made after both trumpeter Damon Brown and I had left the .

We decided to form a band,which turned out to be an early version of Capricorn 1 Called "Altered states" Mogens Tune" was recorded at Muswell Hill Studios with Ernie Mckone.

TV appearances have included Top of the Pops & various others around the Globe. He is currently recording the 2nd CD for his fusion band Capricorn 1 and begins a stint on the Story of Guitar Heroes show in the Uk from January 2017
