Thinking of setting up maths, English or science tutoring for your child in the new year? Here's a few questions to ask:
Is the tutor a fully qualified teacher?
Are they DBS checked and Ofsted registered?
Do students have individual learning programmes?
Are a range of learning methods used?
Do they provide regular feedback?
Are you given a FREE assessment before you start?
At Kip McGrath Taunton we tick all these boxes! Contact us in the new year to give your child an educational boost.
Towards the end of this term we get the first round of parent's evenings. A few hints about what you might ask:
What is my child expected to learn this year?
What are my child's strongest and weakest areas?
Does my child participate in whole class activities?
What type of tests and evaluations are there this year?
Does my child seem happy at school?
Does my child have any special needs I should be aware of?
Is my child reaching his/her potential?
What can I do to support my child's academic progress?
I hope the above will prove useful and a good starting point for those all important discussions.
Anti bullying week this week - let's do our best to wipe it out!

News from Taunton: Week begining June 29th 2015
Only 3 weeks remaining of this term, that said a lot can be achieved in this time frame. Taunton School closes this week - a payback for the longer school days and Saturday mornings, and I suspect Queen's and King's will be doing likewise. Our final session of the year will be on Thursday July 17th, we re-open on Monday September 7th.
Dyslexia screening: We are currently able to offer dyslexia screening to students. To cover our costs the fee is £25 for existing Kip students and £30 for non-Kippers. Let us know if you would like to take part.
Don't forget that, as we are Ofsted registered, you can use child care voucher to help with the cost of tuition. Currently we are registered with four providers so if your company doesn't run a scheme we can supply you with information to take to your employer.
Tutors wanted: We continue to search for qualified, experienced secondary school maths and English teachers to join the team. Do you know someone who might be interested? Send CV to [email protected] or phone 01823 276696 for more information.
