I've now uploaded the analysis of 2024 exams to https://www.paullong.net/gcse-computer-science-exam-analysis-2024/

This is FREE to download and use. Sorry it's taken so long. I wanted to give AOs a chance to feedback and I ended up adding in some extra analysis comparing papers 1 and 2.

Hope this isn't too late to be tagged on to any exam reports you all have to do for SLT.

The Practical Programming Statement - paullong.net 15/09/2021

I hear lots of questions about the practical programming statement (PPS). What is it? When do I need to sign it? Do I need to send off a spreadsheet? Do I need to send off a sample? The PPS is a simple statement whereby a teacher or senior leader from the centre (school/college) needs to confirm that the centre has met the programming requirements within the GCSE Computer Science specification....

Setting Grade Boundaries for Mocks - paullong.net 30/06/2021

One of the most common questions I get asked is about how to set grade boundaries for mocks or other internal exams. Many teachers will suggest using past paper grade boundaries, but I'd like to explain why this is not always good practice. If the paper that you are setting is a genuine unedited past paper and you want to benchmark your students' performance, then yes, do use the grade boundaries that were set for that paper....

GCSE Computer Science Training and Resources 30/06/2021

Really pleased to announce that I have finally got a new website at www.paullong.net that is more reflective of the high-quality Ultimate GCSE resources I provide (I've put off updating from an outdated Microft Expression Web website for too many years while I've focused on developing resources for schools to use). Massive thanks to Sam from Craig'n'Dave who has been instrumental in setting up the structure, style and initial content, and helping me to get started.

You'll find some very generous discounts on Programming Project materials which are still very relevant for students studying for 2022 exams because programming is still a very big part of the assessment and so programming practice is essential.
