Congratulations to Jamie C (5ST) who took part in the Anglo Alpine Championships during half term. Jamie joined the top skiers from UK academies for an intense training camp, before competing in the races which took place in ; home of the in 2026. Jamie worked hard and did extremely well in the races and is now keen to take his passion further.

Going to the theatre always brings learning to life in a thrilling and memorable way. The excitement levels are running high, as the Year 7 boys enjoy their trip to today. They are going to see ‘The Boy at The Back of the Class’. We cannot wait to hear all about it.

Congratulations to Daniel M who was awarded mid term Prefect status. Daniel has displayed exemplary conduct in Year 8 so far and this accolade was well earnt. The award was announced at this morning’s assembly by Mr Springall (Head of Years 7 and 8) and our Head Boy, Dario A.

This week, Parkside pupils from Nursery to Year 8 will be marking . This year’s theme is and will be discussed and celebrated across the School. There will be assemblies, form time activities and wellbeing sessions. Please visit if you would like further information on how you can support this at home.

A fantastically well attended book club with Year 6, discussed ‘D-Day Dog’ by in the Library this week. The boys particularly enjoyed how the protagonist, Jack, changed his view of war as he learned of different experiences first hand and through his research.

School trips are a great way to consolidate learning and introduce new topics. Today, the Year 2 boys had an exciting day gallery. They enjoyed a guided exploration of the sculptures and had to create a collaborative story, bringing these sculptures to life as characters featuring in their stories. They then created their own puppets as additional characters, using their imaginations. The English topic for the next few weeks is ‘storytelling’.

The Prep Library is a hub of activity at Parkside School. Various book clubs, author visits, quizzes and mindfulness sessions are run here. It is also a welcoming environment to enjoy some quiet time and catch up with your favourite literature. Mrs Groombridge, our Librarian, is always on hand to advise pupils and parents on recommended books to inspire and maintain a continued love of reading. Many book clubs have already met this term to discuss books read over the Christmas break, including Year 6 (pictured).

Boys in Years 3 to 8 took part in LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) examinations last term. Years 3 & 4 took ‘Speaking Verse and Prose’ examinations, reciting poetry with clarity, timing, facial expressions and movement. Years 5 to 8 performed in ‘Musical Theatre’ examinations, reciting songs from famous musicals and musical films, acting and singing with enthusiasm, expression and understanding of character and situation. Well done to all those involved and all of that hard work really paid off to get some outstanding results: 34 Distinctions were awarded along with 3 Merits!

We were delighted to be able to host this fun event with Stoke d'Abernon Cricket Club last weekend. We hope you smash your fundraising targets.

Form Time is such a valuable opportunity for pupils to bond and share experiences. This is especially so after the holidays. Today was filled with creative and varied forms of media depicting the boys’ Christmas holidays. There were videos, presentations and collages which were shared with the class and the Head. We particularly enjoyed the Harvey brothers’ Christmas experience, which they transformed into icons and created a game of Dobble for the whole year to enjoy.

Congratulations to all the Prep boys, including the incredible Chamber Choir, soloists, musicians and ‘What Christmas Means to Me’ poets for such a joyful and uplifting candle lit Carol Service .cobham last night. There was an exciting and diverse range of traditional and new carols which saw the School singing with confidence and character to a fantastic audience. Thank you to all involved.

The Reception boys really got into the Christmas spirit today. They made reindeer food for Santa’s reindeer using oats, red sugar, green sugar and cheerios (at the boys’ request).
