Are any of you interested in attending Staffordshire University on Wednesday 13th May 2015 for a law mock trial and negotiation activity. It will be all day but an excellent experience for those wishing to go into practice law in the future. I need names by tomorrow at the latest please then will provide further details :-)

Hi all, for anyone coming to the catch-up session we are using T210 all afternoon today. Come and find us please :-)

I have only had one response for this but can you confirm if any of you first years would like to attend. It includes lots of universities not just Staffordshire. I need to know numbers ASAP:

The Staffordshire Higher Education Convention is to be held on Friday 12th June at Staffordshire University, Stoke on Trent. There will be 126 exhibitors from all over the UK to give advice and guidance on their courses and various modes of study, and to answer other questions students may have about individual institutions, and about HE generally. In addition, there are a number of seminars to help students to learn more about the UCAS process, Student Finance and specific courses. Please find attached the seminar programme.

Wednesday for IPA we will be in T102/03

It is essential that you bring your kit as we will have small groups tomorrow delivering sessions and this observation will form a large part of your assessment. We will also be completing the session plans, again this forms a large part of the overall criteria.

See you all tomorrow in T102/03 (the gym in Tenterbanks)

As we said previously the sooner this stuff is completed the sooner you will be finished for the summer.

Hi all just wanted to make you aware of some room changes for Monday.

Public services and Law 2nd years we will be in E233

Public services 2nd years we will be in the library room 303. As you are aware if you have completed you do not need to attend although it would be good to as you can work on other units.

Please don't forget, for those learners that have not paid their £30 towards their expedition, this must be done prior to you going please. I have a list of names for all those that have or haven't paid. Please come and show me the receipt once you have paid. Thanks :-)

How satisfied are you with your football club? Survey

Can you all please have a look at the following survey sent through from Matt Barnfather regarding football matches and the impact they have on attendance:

Hello All,

As part of my academic studies, I have been asked to perform my own research project on any subject. In my case, I have selected to investigate the factors that vary attendances at the matches of football clubs in and around the midland's area. The clubs that I have selected to investigate are Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion, Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Derby County, Wolverhampton Wonderers, Nottingham Forest, Crewe Alexandra, Walsall, Port Vale, Mansfield Town and Burton Albion. If anyone has any students in their tutor groups, or know any students (or staff) that support any of these clubs, could you please ask them to complete a very quick, two minute survey please? The survey does not ask for any personal information (i.e. name, age, gender, address, marital status ect.) and everyone who takes part in the survey holds the right to withdraw at any time.

Level 2 Public Services - Please log into Moodle and have a look at the powerpoint under Role and Work of the public services. It is important to review this as the content is specifically related to the exam which will take place on the 19th May 2015.

A vast majority of first year students still owe leadership and behaviour tasks. You have until the end of next week to be up to date with all work. Remember, a lot of staff will be out on expeditions after Easter which will mean a wait for marking and any assistance. YOUR CHOICE!!!

Hi all,
Just a gentle reminder that it's staff development day tomorrow - Tuesday 24th March 2015 therefore there are no public services classes running. Please ensure you are using the time effectively to work on assignments and get up to date before Easter.

Thanks :-)

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service is holding an apprenticeships recruitment day at its headquarters in Stone.

The event will take place at the service’s HQ at Pirehill on Monday 9th March. Four two-hour sessions will take place running from 10am-noon, 12.30pm-2.30pm, 3pm-5pm and 5.30pm-7.30pm. To book a place on one of the events email [email protected]
The apprenticeships are open to people aged 16 and over and who have left school. The apprenticeships include business administration, catering, community safety, ICT technical support, maintenance, motor vehicle technician and project assistant.
Learning and Development Manager Tim Wareham said: “The people who work at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service are its biggest asset and we are keen to add enthusiastic, talented and hardworking apprentices to the team. “The recruitment day is a great opportunity for people to find out about the roles that are available, to speak to members of staff from the Service and ask any questions they may have. We have had a number of apprentices over the years who have gone on to do extremely well within the Service and we will support and encourage new apprentices to achieve their very best too.”

Payment information
If you go onto the college infoport page, there is a WisePay icon on the right hand side. Clicking on this brings you to a login page.

You were all given login details either when you enrolled or shortly after. If you don’t have these details then you can come over to finance and they will email you with your login and password.

Once you are logged in there is an icon for trips, clicking on this will show all the trips you are eligible for (just paintballing at the moment!). You then click on this trip and a screen appears asking you to tick the amount to pay, then just add it to your basket and checkout as you normally would when buying stuff online.

The deposit must be paid by the end of this week if you are interested in coming. Remember if you don't come on the trip you will be expected in college as normal.
