✨🎄Merry Christmas from our Raise to Shine Family to Yours 🎄✨
Today we had a very special visit from Santa Ray and his Elves. The children had such a magical experience meeting Father Christmas and his wonderful Elves. Thank you for taking the time to share the Christmas Joy with our Raise to Shine Family and help us create some wonderful festive memories this year.
✨ Carina was very excited to celebrate Diwali and Remembrance Day this week at nursery. Our Shooting Stars embraced wearing their poppies with pride and enjoyed the Diwali celebrations 🌺🪔✨✨✨
✨ Harvest Festival celebrates the time of year when crops have been gathered from the field and people can reflect and show gratitude for the food that they have.
It dates back a long time in British history, to when people relied on crops for food and famers would give thanks for a good harvest.
This year food and other essentials were donated by our children and families and the whole team at Raise to Shine Childcare, we joined Kingswood School in their annual harvest donation to a local food bank.
Thank you Kingswood School for letting us be a part of your harvest festival and we look forward to joining you again next year in giving thanks and expressing our gratitudes for all that we have. ✨
World Mental Health Day 2023🌎❤️

Our lovely room leader of Toddlers, Amy, created some lovely emotion cards and has been discussing them with the children today and asking how they are feeling. All the children loved this activity and carried the cards round with them all day.
✨ Share our similarities, celebrate our differences ✨
Preschool have been focusing on similarities and differences this week and observing what makes us all different. The children mixed different paints together and used mirrors to create self portraits🎨
We had so much fun with this activity and enjoyed comparing our hair colour, eye colour and the complexion of our skin ❤️

Absolutely devastating to hear such sad news of the three young boys who sadly are not with us today. Our thoughts are with their families and friends and we pray that the fourth little boy has the strength to fight a strong recovery. This has been heartbreaking for our Solihull community and wider communities. Respects to all the emergency services who gave it their all. 🙏💔
✨"I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long
or short, shall be devoted to your service of our great imperial
family to which we all belong"- Elizabeth II
It has been devastating to many of us to witness the sad passing of our Royal
Highness, The Majesty, Queen Elizabeth the Second. In line with this, we have kept her
memory alive through the nursery setting by incorporating lots
of activities to help the children understand this historic event.
In Pre-School, we have been learning of the many estates
the Queen owns. The children were able to recognise
'Buckingham Palace' and able to create their own version of it
using cardboard boxes, paint and glitter. They have also had
experince of using a variety of tools and resources, which they found very exciting.
We have also been talking about the Royal Family Tree,
children are able to explain their own family and who would be
the 'Queen' of their homes
In Toddlers, we have been enjoying sensory play with oats
and paint, creating Union Jack's. Children were able to
recognise the different colours 'red', white' and 'blue'.
Enjoy the pictures of our activities.✨
✨We are deeply saddened to the passing of Her Majesty the Queen, our Queen.
Throughout this period of mourning we will be reflecting on the the years of our Sovereigns dedication, duty and selfless service to the country.
Today is a sad day, our children are witnessing one of the most historic days of this era. We will continue to celebrate the Queens reign with the children and continue to uphold British Values.
Queen Elizabeth ll is the definition of Great Britain. Thank you Your Majesty 🙏❤️✨
✨On behalf of all the Raise to Shine Childcare Team and Famillies, God bless our Queen who is in our thoughts and prayers at this time✨
✨ Before our little superstars met the pets, we read some books about the animals that had come to visit us at nursery to help us understand them more and increase our knowledge to make our live experience even better ✨
✨Bring Your Pet to Nursery Day✨
"We may have pets, but when it comes to unconditional
love. They are the masters!"- Donald Hicks
We have had lots of fun at nursery, learning about the
different types of pets our peers keep at home. We learnt
that parrots eat their food by holding it in their
Then we tried to feed Meetu some food, but he was
too excited to see us! So we petted him and he loved
climbing on our heads! Cheeky Meetu!
Then we read a book about facts about cats. We learnt
that the biggest cat is a Sibirian Tiger spy! And that cats lick
themself to keep clean. When Milo came in, he decided
to run around everywhere as he was too excited! So after
chasing him, we stroked Milo, and noticed that he was
very soft to touch! Because Milo was being so good...
We gave him T-R-E-A-T-S! Well done Milo!
Finally, we went in the garden and met Milo the dog. She
was very excited to see us and kept jumping around
We then stroked her and gave her a stick for being well
behaved! (Although it was more of a tug of war dog vs
What a wonderful experience 😊
