COVID-19 Resources 03/04/2020

COVID-19 Resources

ℹ️ All Parents ℹ️

▶️ NHS Mental Health Supports

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) have pulled together a library of online resources to help young people and their families during this time. This isn't just for people already working with the service - it is for anyone who wants or needs to support their mental wellbeing through this time. It's a great collection of supports covering a huge range of topics and situations.

You can find thems here - https://services.nhslothian.scot/camhs/Resources/Pages/ResourcePacks.aspx

Remember to stay connected to people - your whole pupil support team are still here to help!

▶️ Distance Learning Opportunity - RUTS

We have had an amazing offer through from our partners at RUTS (Rural and Urban Training Scheme) to help support anyone over the age of 16 with working towards an SQA accredited Personal Development Award during this time away from school - with an enticement at the end of all our restrictions! If you want to find out more about RUTS, visit https://www.ruts.org.uk/

If you would like to take part in this, please let your Pupil Support Leader know and they will put you in contact with RUTS. If you need any help with accessing this, please let us know and we'll help you in any way we can. Here is what they're offering:

During this time there is great opportunity for personal development. Completing the SQA qualification titled ‘Personal Development Award’ (PDA) will help you develop your skills and also boost your future employment chances.

RUTS can allocate you a youth worker to support you – They can support you through a project of personal development via phone, online chat and video calling.
On successful completion of the award and after lockdown, you will be invited to RUTS to take part on an off-road motorbike session or an outdoor mountain bike ride - if you want.

There is no cost attached to this course/service.
If you are interested or would like more information please contact your guidance teacher.

Previous topics for Personal Development have included building confidence and creating items for Tik Tok content, producing your own Podcast, taking part in Bake-Off Challenges, learning a new language, and creating an upcycling project. There is really no limit to what area you want to personally develop, and our youth trainers will talk you through this!

COVID-19 Resources Access information together from an age appropriate news source: for example, this helpful article from the BBC on how to protect your mental health.
