Solihull School and The Association of Jewish Refugees (AJR) invite you to a performance of Kindness: A Legacy of the Holocaust followed by a panel discussion at 7pm Thursday 28 September.
'Kindness’ is a ground-breaking verbatim Holocaust play based on the testimony of Hungarian survivor Susan Pollack OBE, who at the age of 13 was sent to Auschwitz-Birkenau and later to Bergen Belsen. The play has been described as “beautiful and empowering”, “extraordinary” and “breath-taking”. The performance will be followed by a panel discussion with the actors, and director and writer Cate Hollis.
We are honoured to host Kindness: A Legacy of the Holocaust and another very memorable occasion awaits us.

An update on Team Solihull’s Sri Lankan fundraising project 👇
A water supply is near completion in Nyanza, in the upcountry, in central Sri Lanka. It’s a stunningly picturesque area yet home to many of Sri Lanka’s poorest people.
Our grateful thanks and admiration go to Henry Amalraj, Assist RR’s Sri Lanka’s engineer who has masterminded an ingenious water harnessing and filtration system on behalf of IMHO USA. The tea plantation area is lush and very steep. Whilst there is no shortage of rain fall, there is a huge shortage of reservoirs and filtration systems and very little clean water supplies to families’ homes.
The community of the Nyaza division have been directly involved in the implementation and Henry has fashioned a blueprint for replication elsewhere. It’s an outstanding, creative example of a high impact, low-cost charity project which will have 1500 direct beneficiaries, costing just $6,300 USD.
Well done and thanks to Henry, to IMHO USA and, of course, to those who sponsored Team Solihull, for making this happen.

The Headmaster’s House Summer Reading Challenge has led to Mr Gledhill reading this book about the world’s largest languages based on number of speakers. Fascinating to discover that the largest German word ever used is Donaudampfschiffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft.
