A very festive session for Cookery Club this week. The children loved baking and decorating their Christmas cupcakes. Yum yum! ๐ง๐๐
Michaelmas term ends with round one of our popular House Quiz and it was so close there were calls for a recount!! It was the first year Middle School had joined the competition and contributed valuable points to both houses. Just 4 points separated the scores with Saxons securing the win with 878 to Angles 874 points! ๐๐๐

It's Christmas jumper day. So many wonderfully festive jumpers, hats, socks and even the odd tie (Mr Sliney ๐คฉ) ๐๐๐๐ ๐
The Owl, the Pussycat and their beautiful pea green boat took centre stage with kindergarten and nursery children this morning. They were gripped by the retelling of the tale by a shadow puppeteer before crafting their own puppets and staging their own shadow puppet performance.
It was wonderful to welcome parents to school on Friday morning to share in our Christmas programme of events. Form 1 sang and performed superbly in their Christingle assembly and they enjoyed creating their individual Christingles in lessons last week. ๐๐
A very special parcel has arrived for the children all the way from Reshomile Primary School, Diepsloot Township, South Africa. ๐ฟ๐ฆ It is packed full of hand-crafted festive greeting cards and decorations which the School Council were excited to unpack this morning to share with each of their forms. ๐ ๐๐

Year 2 had a magical 'Journey to the Stable' at St Alphege Church. ๐โจ๐They were excited to experience the Christmas story, meeting the Grumpy Innkeeper, Shepherds and Kings and Mary and Joseph to learn about the important events.๐โจ๐
The Lucky Dip Christmas Box Tombola at the ESA Christmas Fayre always provides a real sense of fun, creativity and excitement to gift giving. Prizes were awarded today for the best decorated box from each form. Congratulations to all of this yearโs winners:
Henry (Kindergarten), Phoebe and Daya (Nursery), Camila and Rosie (Reception), Maisie and Riyan (Year 1), Maya and Daniel (Year 2), Davi and Isabella (Year 3), Yusuf and Jennah (Year 4), Elliot and Mabel (Year 5) and Benjamin and Reuben (Year 6).
It just wouldnโt be Christmas at Eversfield without the ESA Christmas Fayre. ๐๐ The children loved the day and all the stalls and Christmas-themed activities that took place especially visiting Santa in his grotto. Many thanks to the ESA for organising a fabulous afternoon of festivities again this year. ๐ ๐๐ ๐
Despite their busy schedule Santa's reindeer are making time for a special visit to meet the children at Eversfield this afternoon, bringing the magic of Christmas with them. ๐ ๐โจThank you ESA for arranging this enchanting visit!
The final trimmings are up on all the trees and the halls decked beautifully by our fabulous team. ๐๐ It's a real showstopper of a tree in our main reception hall towering 15ft ๐๐๐
It's a VERY busy time of year in the music department. โจ๐ผHere is Form 5ML working with Mr Biggs on perfecting their performance of Silent Night on the bell plates for the end of term carol service. ๐๐โจ
Behind the scenes at lunchtime today with Eversfield Senior Singers rehearsing 'Waiting for Christmas' which they will perform on Thursday at Christmas at Eversfield. ๐๐๐ ๐โจ
In Nursery, the children have been writing their letters to Santa and proudly packed them up and posted them to the ! We hope that they get there soon. ๐ฒ๐ ๐
Two Eversfield Science Quiz teams competed today in the National Science Quiz Inter-school Heats. Despite not making the final, our Form 5/6 teams delivered a great performance against very strong opposition. ๐๐๐
At one point an Eversfield team was in 11th place out of 82 teams. ๐ฅSpecial mention to Charles B whose individual performance saw him at one point ranked as 13th out of 288 competitors. Well done to both teams.

Bullying can be very challenging for children to navigate. โHow do you tell if itโs bullying? โHow do you respond? โWho can you tell? โWhat are the types of bullying?
Our Peer Mentors have set an Question Hunt around the playgrounds with stars on offer for the winning class with the most correct answers. ๐คฉIt is just one of this weekโs many activities to help raise awareness of bullying and to highlight ways of preventing and responding to it. ๐๐

Our fantastic peer mentors kick started our activities with Odd Socks Day and an anti-bullying assembly for the whole school to explain the importance and purpose of the day. ๐งฆ๐ซถ

The Armistice brought an end to the First World War where an estimated 20 million people died. Today the school community came together to honour and respect all of the past generations that have been involved in conflict and the sacrifices they made for us. โค๏ธ
This afternoon the children in Form 1 (RA) took part in activities to help them understand more about the significance of Remembrance Day. They thought about why we wear poppies and who we are remembering before making their own poppies to wear. โค๏ธ
Thank you to the ESA and to everyone who donated to this week's Bag2School collection. Almost 435kg was donated which raised ยฃ174! ๐๐๐๐
Our new charity fundraising and awareness badges in support of Reshomile Primary School, South Africa, have arrived and go on sale from Monday. There were some fabulous designs produced by the School Council who selected Henry's design to feature. ๐๐ ๐ฟ๐ฆBadges cost ยฃ1 and every purchase will benefit the pupils at the school in the deprived Township where many of the children face hardship in their daily lives.
We are proud of our peer mentors who undertook their training this week with experts from The Diana Award to become Anti-Bullying Ambassadors. ๐ซถ Meeting with nearly 100 other children from schools across the region they learnt how to recognise behaviour and how to intervene safely and challenge bullying head on. โThank you Warwick School for hosting the regional training event.
Working with their partners and having great fun in Maths, Form 1 (RB) have been constructing 3D shapes with art-straws.๐๐ It has helped them identify the properties of each shape and spot lots of real-life examples all around them. ๐ฒโฝ๏ธ๐ฆ๐ฅซ
The U10s rugby team enjoyed kicking off this week at the Boy's Rugby U10 Festival hosted by Bilton Grange Preparatory School. Learning greatly from playing six other teams Maidwell Hall Beachborough School Ratcliffe College Milton Keynes Preparatory School & Nursery The Croft Preparatory School and hosts Bilton Grange, our boys thoroughly enjoyed the tackling, teamwork and rucking opportunities before sharing post match tea and highlights with all the players. ๐๐ Congratulations to Zakariya who was nominated Most Valuable Player.๐
Delivering data with scientific precision our new weather station has certainly been put through its paces this week with the changeable conditions. Pupils will be collecting the data on the weather we experience over the coming months. โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธโ๏ธThey will monitor, interpret and report on the data looking at everything from wind speed and direction, to rainfall, temperature and humidity. ๐๐
On our spooktacular dress up day, some of the Kindergarten and Nursery little witches practised flying on their broomsticks! They all managed to get their broomsticks lifted off the ground in their very first flying lesson! โจ๐๐งโโ๏ธ
House Music hit the spotlight this afternoon. ๐น๐ป๐ผAnnouncing Angles the winner Mrs Harrison-Oram praised all of the soloists and House Choirs on their performances. ๐๐๐Congratulations to Angles and well done to everyone who supported their house by auditioning this year.

Selly Manor Museum in historic Bournville welcomed Form 5 to learn more about The Tudors. ๐Through a fun range of hands-on activities including handling objects, trying items on and carrying out tasks the children learned about the economic and social conditions in the 16th century.

What a SPOOKTACULAR day! ๐งโโ๏ธ๐ง๐งโโ๏ธIn a day filled with fun spooky-themed learning activities over ยฃ840 has been raised in support of Reshomile Township Primary School. ๐๐
There was a fantastic array of imaginative outfits and the children have really enjoyed taking part in lots of activities including pumpkin carving, broomstick flying lessons skeleton building and spooky cooking. There were even sneaky donuts for break time snack!
