Colorado Ranch Adventure 2024.
to June when Sam and Will (Third Form) Oscar (Shell Form) and Zach (J4) all competed for the Midlands-wide Mercian Marauders squad at the UK Lions U13 hockey tournament in Nottingham.
Oscar, Sam and Zach's team took home gold in the trophy competition, winning all six of their matches, scoring the most goals (27) and conceding the least (2) of any team at the event - beating a very competitive Ulster team 5-1 in the final.
Congratulations to Caspar U18, and Ryan and Mollie U16s who all represented England in the recent eight and four nations tournament. A fantastic achievement! A special mention to Caspar who captained the England team.
Italy Music Tour 2024 - Day 7 photos - home time after an amazing week - sadly an empty swimming pool at the hotel, the scene of great fun and cooling down free time during the week. On the way to Venice Airport, we stopped at Vicenza to visit the Teatro Olimpico, a spectacular Renaissance theatre with the oldest surviving stage set in the world, and another UNESCO world heritage site.
Italy Music Tour 2024 - Day 6 Concert photos - this was an outdoor concert at the Piazzale Castello in Polpenazze del Garda - as well as rehearsals, we had some free time before the concert to explore the stunning location and see the incredible views, and the reception from the local community was once again a wonderful experience, and a true testament to the hard work of staff and students in preparing the music for the tour.
Italy Music Tour 2024 - Day 6 photos - a visit to Desensanzo, another beautiful town on the shores of Lake Garda, where there was time for shopping, ice cream and walking by the lake.
Colorado Ranch Adventure: Rafting down the Upper Colorado!
The summer hanging baskets are looking beautiful!
In the summer term, Mrs Rooney, Mr Delaney, Mr P Morgan and our Argentinian exchange students participated in Equity Group international Zoom calls. The pupils were joined by Nepal and India who watched a video created by the Colegio Yapeyú school and 'met' the students involved in the film.
Mrs Rooney commented: "It's an amazing initiative with fantastic commitment from these young pupils."
During the summer term, Nursery pupils took their bears on an adventure to the Parkridge Centre. The children enjoyed making fairy dens and magic potions, finding story pictures to retell Goldilocks and the Three Bears, did bark rubbings and played 'Wake up bear'!
Before the end of term, Lower Fifth diploma students helped pack boxes of donated books, clothes and toys for children in Malawi.
Pupils on the Colorado Ranch Adventure have had a great day, white water rafting down the Upper Colorado River followed by an evening hike and cook out!

Of our Prep School, The Good Schools Guide say: ‘Town centre location, yet ‘in its own bubble’ where happy pupils ‘flourish’, say parents. Staff say, “Ability matters, but effort matters twice as much.” However, thanks to their approach, they seem to get both.’

Well done to these Third Form pupils who participated in the Spanish Spelling Bee National Final at the University of Cambridge.
After a year of intense and dedicated practice, our pupils enjoyed the opportunity to compete among the top 30 students in the country.
Izzy, Isabella and Hasan demonstrated remarkable maturity and respect throughout the competition. The pupils missed out on the Grand Final by just one second!
Miss Jimenez Fuentes said: “It was a pleasure to see our Solihull pupils perform so bravely on stage in front of a large audience, handling the pressure with grace. Their supportive nature towards each other was heartwarming, and their high-quality performances were truly impressive.
“All three pupils were awarded a free language course, a testament to their hard work and dedication. The event was not only a competition but also a valuable opportunity for them to gauge the national level of proficiency in Spanish.
“Their participation in the National Final has been an inspiring journey for all of us.”
Pupils in Explorers Club were understandably proud of their brilliant bug hotel creation. We hope lots of creepy crawlies and mini-beasts are settling in for their summer holidays!
Italy Music Tour 2024 - Day 5 concert - the Chiesa San Pietro in Cariano welcomed us so warmly for our concert, providing pre-concert hospitality including regional foods and a little sample of the local Valpolicella wine, as well as access to their facilities, and the most appreciative audience, this time asking for two encores!
Italy Music Tour 2024 - Day 5 - a visit to the village of Borghetto, said to be one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. We had time to explore and of course the all-important visit to one of the many gelaterias.
Team Expedition Morocco 🇲🇦 started the ascent to Toubkal today, reaching basecamp at almost 10000ft!
Italy Music Tour 2024 - Day 4 - we had a wonderful audience at the Chiesa dell'Assuta in Sabbioneta, who were so appreciative of our performances, even demanding an encore at the end of the concert, and with numerous shouts of 'bravi!' during the applause. Before the concert, Chamber Choir sang during the Sunday evening Mass, singing from the choir gallery. The local community again offered us a meal and their play equipment for some well-earned down time after the mass and concert!
Italy Music Tour 2024 - Day 4 - we visited the beautiful town of Sabbioneta, a UNESCO world heritage site, which was designed by Duke Vespasiano in the sixteenth century, intended to be an ideal town with everything he needed in a central location - church, commerce, religion and entertainment. The town treated us to a guided tour as part of their welcome to us including the amazing Teatro Olimpico.
The Colorado Ranch Adventure has landed safely in Denver and is enjoying a quick pit stop at Wendy's before hitting the road!

Expedition Morocco 🇲🇦
Early walk to the olive cooperative in Tagleft for team expedition Morocco, digging holes and levelling terraces. The rest of the day included a tour of the weekly vegetable market, street football and sleeping on the roof!
Italy Music Tour 2024 - Day 3 - our first concert, held in the Chiesa SS Pietro e Paolo, Toscolano, where we were warmly welcomed with a reception in the local community hall, followed by some free time before the concert. The concert was an amazing experience for everyone, and our music was greatly appreciated by the audience - afterwards they said that they felt we had brought a breath of fresh air on such a hot day, we had warmed their hearts, and whatever the result of the football, we were winners already - how lovely!
Italy Music Tour 2024 - Day 3 - a visit to Salo on the banks of Lake Garda, known as being the home of the violin, and infamous for being the last seat of the Mussolini regime.
