So proud of my superstar mathematicians this week: from statistics, to ‘bus stop’ mastery, factors and multiples, they’ve got it covered! Lots of reasoning and problem solving to ensure that deeper understanding. Well done kiddos 🌟 💫

I never really got ‘poppets’ as a fidget toy until my friend pointed out they’re a great maths tool too... I’ve used this one as a hundred square (handy chalk pen again), but they’re also perfect for visualising multiplication / division with arrays, counting and subitising for younger ones, addition, subtraction, fractions and more! I'm working on setting descriptions with my year 5 and 6 students this week. We're using photo prompts, relevant to their interests, to inspire independent writing. I've been really impressed with the quality of writing so far!

My new favourite find... chalk pens! They can be used on windows and mirrors, plus they're totally wipeable and washable. Today, we're practising our spellings playing noughts and crosses. Can adapt for any age group.
