ACE News

We would like to say a massive thank you to St Johns Church and Sidcup Partners for their recent donation to our ACE Department.

They have provided:

* Over £500 worth of hygiene products and Breakfast Club provisions.

* Uniform and school shoes for students in need

* Bags of food for our families in need which are being distributed today.

Pictured are Sue, Chris and Liz after shopping at Bookers yesterday.

As we are all aware, the cost of living crisis is having a detrimental effect on many families, and it is by donations such as these that we can support students and families in need and make school a safe, stable and welcoming place to be for our young people.

Thank you

St.John's Church, Sidcup

Parental Communication Information

Dear Parents and Carers,

Following the recent change to our communications provider we are aware that some messages from the school may be getting filtered into Spam or Junk folders.

This is due to a global change in the way email providers are handling bulk email messages.

Emails sent from the school are now sent from this address - [email protected] via

Please check you spam/junk filters and mark any messages from the above address as 'not spam' or 'looks safe'.

We would encourage all parents and carers who are Primary Guardians to sign up to the Arbor Parent Portal and App to receive In App notifications.

Kind regards

Cleeve Park School

Assistant Head Teacher Mr Stone and our Changemaker students met with our governors on Friday to talk about the work they are doing to develop student leadership and impact in school.

We have been participating in the Grassroots project this year; a pupil-led anti-conflict intervention funded by the EEF and YEF.

Wider Community - Badminton Success

Congratulations to Year 7 student Siddhant who, despite his young age is playing Badminton at a professional level.

On the 2nd March Siddhant won the Gold medal 🏅 in U13 Gold Badminton England tournament held at the National Badminton Centre in Milton Keynes.

Siddhant was playing in the 'Gold' category for his age group and played against the current England No. 1 and other top players.

Well done - what a fantastic achievement!

Last Friday we sent out details of our new Parent Portal and App to Primary Guardians.

We are no longer using School Comms for communication, instead this has been replaced with the Arbor Parent App.

From within the portal you will be able to see current details about your child, including a copy of their timetable. Over the next few months we will be switching on additional functionality for reporting, data collection, exams and parental consents. We will eventually be moving behaviour details (positive and negative) on to the App as well.

If you normally receive email communication from the school but have not received this email please check your Junk or Spam folders.

Please note - we will still be using ParentPay for all payments (e.g. Dinner Money and trips) and the SchoolCloud Parents Evening System for Parent Evenings.

On Thursday our Football Academy boys took part in an online 'Introduction to First Aid' course with the Red Cross as part of their Unit 17 coursework which also supported their Work Experience week.

The students are on the Cambridge Technicals in Sport and Physical Activity Level 3 course which provides them with practical opportunities to develop relevant core knowledge and develop their skills through specialist pathways that help them deliver sport and physical activity to a wide range of participants once they finish Post 16 education.

Information from the Bexley Immunisation Team

Measles cases are rising in the UK. To be fully protected against this serious disease, your child needs to have received two doses of the MMR vaccine.

You can check your child’s vaccination status by checking their Red Book.

If your child is missing one or both doses, you can have them vaccinated at local community clinics. To book an appointment, head to the HRCH children’s immunisations website

Parents of Year 9 Students were emailed yesterday regarding the Options Meeting on Thursday 29th February.

This is an opportunity for yourself, and your child, to speak to Heads of Department in all curriculum areas that we currently offer at GCSE.

Please contact the office if you need any further information.

Dear Parents / Carers,

We had this notification just as we broke up last week. This is likely to affect travel times to and from the school over the coming weeks particularly for those coming from the Bexleyheath direction, please allow additional travel time for this. I have asked the bus garage for any information about changes to routes or schedules, if and when we receive any more information we will pass this on to parents.

I am writing to advise you of our upcoming project to upgrade the gas network pipes in and around Bourne Road, Bexleyheath. We are replacing our old metal gas mains and services with new plastic pipe. This essential work will ensure your community continues to receive a safe and reliable gas supply.

Our contractor, JDT Utilities, who will be completing this project on our behalf, will start work on 12 February for approximately six weeks.

The network of pipes we need to replace are under the carriageway and to comply with road safety regulations we will need to close the lane in the road travelling toward BexleyHeath, Westbound from outside 111 Blendon Road to outside property 183 Blendon Road while we carry out our work. Access will not be available to the Drive or Penhill Road going south. Parking spaces will also be restricted during this time.

Access will remain for residents and businesses; however, we may need to restrict this at times.

A diversion will be in place coming from the A2 and from Danson Underpass.

Once this work has been completed, we will be moving further along the road.

A web page can be accessed at Bexley, Blendon Road | SGN Your gas. Our network. Where we will update our progress and plans as we work.

We are working collaboratively with the surrounding businesses to keep them aware of any changes to our work plan.

Thank you for your patience and consideration during this time.

Some final pictures of the KS5 New York adventure - the students will probably spend the rest of the half-term battling Jet-Lag! But worth it for the experience.

In what is becoming a tradition on school trips..... we present "Mr Hoyle - it's all a bit too much"

Our latest school newsletter - Cleeve Life Vol 8 - is out now - this edition has a focus on Literacy and Resilience.

A downloadable copy can be found here -

Lynn Middleton Award Winner

The Lynn Middleton award is a shield presented annually in memory of our dear colleague Lynn who was a TA here at Cleeve Park for many years. When Lynn sadly passed away the TA Team wanted to do something positive in her memory, so it was decided to present this award to any SEN student who shows resilience, is a hard worker, or makes us proud with their outstanding attitude both in and outside of school.

This year's winner is Martin in Year 10. Martin was chosen by the TA's for his resilience against everything he goes through every day in his life, his hardworking attitude to his school work and for always being cheerful.

Well Done Martin - everyone at Cleeve Park is very proud of you!
