Stokesay Primary School

Hi Everyone. The friends of school are doing a raffle. Please come and see me in the big playground in the morning or the little playground in the afternoon to buy a ticket.
Evening. Just wondered if there’s any update from Arthog. A few parents just need a little reassurance. I’m sure there all ok but for a lot of us this is the first time our children have been away with no contact. Realise it’s only day one. But if I don’t ask I don’t know. Thanks in advance.

wondered if you wouldnt mind sharing this post from the Teme leisure page regarding swim lessons

will give a free trial lesson to anyone who come from the school
Is it christmas jumper day tomorrow? 🎄🎅
Is our school doing anything for children in need tomorrow?
Could someone tell me if breakfast club is running this week please?
I came to Stokesay at the end of March to take over Mr. Ansells class. I would just like to thank Turquoise class for being brilliant. I wish all of the children well. I would also like to thank all of the staff for being so good to me. Stokesay are very lucky to have so many great adults that help the children. On a personal note I would like to thank Donna and Mrs.Wood who are a credit to the school. I have tried to say thanks in a couple of assemblies but get too emotional. I hope you all have a great holiday. Mr. Morris

This letter has been sent out in book bags today:

Dear Parents/Carers,

Coronavirus update – school closure to most pupils

Following on from my last update, I am writing to let you know that we have now been instructed to close the school to almost all children after this Friday until further notice.

As advised by the government, we will do all we can to stay open for the children of key workers and children with certain needs. We are waiting for the Government to publish more information on what this means, therefore please bear with us whilst we await this information and if possible, avoid contacting the school at this stage to ask for clarification about whether your child may fall into one of the categories. We appreciate that this will be frustrating but please understand that at soon as we have clarity we will contact you immediately.

In the meantime If you believe that you might qualify because of your occupation please email: [email protected] with the following information:
- Name and date(s) of birth of pupils
- The name(s) of responsible adults that live in your house
- The careers / roles of the adults in your house

We will be in touch again as soon as we are sure who this does apply to.

All other children will need to stay at home, so we ask that you do not send your child into school from Monday onwards unless we have contacted you individually. Home Learning Packs will be sent home with children on Friday. If your child is not currently in school, please collect the packs from the School Office.

Please note that this is a national closure – as you may have heard in the news – so while it is a challenging situation, we are not alone.

At Stokesay we are always proud of our children’s resilience, kind nature and positive attitude. We are sure that they will uphold these values in these uncertain times.

Many thanks for your understanding and support

Yours sincerely,

Mr P O’Malley

Arthog 2020........ All back safe and sound! Before I sign out, I just wanted to take the opportunity to say what an absolutely wonderful week we’ve had. What a really great bunch of children you should be really proud of them all, they are a credit to you. What was so nice was that the Arthog staff and staff from the other school said how friendly and polite they were. They have blossomed and overcome fears and experienced lots of new things. They probably will be grateful for an early night, I know I will 😂😂😂 Have a fab half term!
