I am super excited to be hosting a very special drawing workshop and story time for Father's day this Sunday at Booka Bookshop. This is a charming tale of father and daughter and their imaginitave adventure down to their local bookshop and cafe.
We're celebrating all the men who take care of us and the love of books for independent book shop week. I would love to see you there.
Be good to each other, dream big and read, read, read! Love, Becca.
Autumn Home Art
Adventures in Pen and Ink in Shropshire on the Welsh borders. All works are original, by Becca Louise Hunter. Commissions are welcome.
Autumn Home Art creates unique miniature artworks and specialises in creating bespoke, personalised drawings of your favourite place, building or quote. I love new challenges and have produced a variety of pieces from artwork for a nursery wall to advertising for business.
Operating as usual
Some floral line drawings I've been working on for Designs in Mind in Oswestry.
These are peonies, which among many things represent honour and compassion. They are also one of my favourite flowers!
One more session on these and I think they'll be done!
Let me know what you think in the comments
A strong coffee and a lovely floral sketch is my kind of slow way to start the day.
A little project still in progress. A couple of Dandy Hares in full Victorian attire. One more to go and I'll pop them in frames and post new pics.
A colourful little boost to get us all in the mood for Spring!
This was a marvellous commission for wedding stationery for the lovely and patient Ed and Becky.
I am a slow artist and work in and amongst my other commitments including my job as a bookseller, but what my customers get are bespoke pieces of art made with the utmost care and dedication, centred entirely to their specifications. It brings me a unique joy to finally pass each individual artwork on.
If you have a special event coming up I would love to hear from you.
I have unfortunately been very poorly this week with a proper fluey winter bug. Horrible stuff. It has also mesnt I've been a wee bit behind on all of my lovely commission work.
Tomorrow is my Gradmothers birthday, she will be 86 - wow! And what an impressive and wonderful woman she is too.
I put this together for her with love and admiration after work this evening, I hope she likes it.
Thanks to all my customers who have been patient with my short hiatus this week. All back to normal next week.
We hope.
More paint play.
I've never really had a go with paints before but I wanted to try working with colour a little more seeing as we are in such a colourful season.
Here are my first few playful attempts to use watercolours.
If anyone knows of any local watercolour classes, do get I touch because I am entirely self taught and would love the practical experience.
Thank you for continuing to follow folks, hope you all get comfy cosy this weekend πππ³

Original drawings are all up for sale, just pop me a message in for prices - although it will be bittersweet sending these off to a new home - I did love making them.
Here are the first Autumn Art Autumny celebration drawings.
These little guys are getting comfy cosy and snuggling up with good books, wooly hats, scarves and a sleepy blanket.
All are one off originals in 7cm x 7cm frames (they are adorably diddy) and are available to purchase individually or as a set. Message me for details!
Here's great throwback photo of me when I think I was 20? Enjoying the swings in Ellesmere and being just absolutely in love with Autumn at home after living away in Manchester for only a few weeks. I would get so homesick in the city during Autumn because I missed the trees and the colour changes and the long walks in the woods followed by cosy times under a blanket with a hot chocolate.
It really is just my favourite time of year. Back to school, Harry Potter (I like to read it in the Autumn), knitting, fluffy socks, early nights, what's not to love? It's how we got our name!
And I can smell it - it's on it's way.
So, to celebrate, I have started a collection of drawings inspired by Autumn at Home. Watch this space my dearest friends, I hope you enjoy the season, get cosy, and enjoy some new Autumn Home art.
Llanddywyn Island in Anglesey, near the Southern entrance of the Menai Strait.
A magical place resident to St. Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers. Pilgrimages were made to the island to seek knowledge from Dwynwen as to determin the faithfulness of a lover from her well of magical eels.
Bootifull.
"Nook" is quite possibly my favourite word. Reading nook, ingle nook, nooks and crannies. It just makes me want to cosy up with some reading material, a soft blanket and a hot drink.
I am definitely getring ready to hibernate again. I can smell autumn in the air.
A new work in progress π
A lovely break on the Welsh Coast.
Please keep sending your lovely projects and ideas my way, you're a very inspiring bunch and I love a challenge.
Perfect atmosphere to get inspired.
A true labour of love. πΏ
This took me months but I am so in love with it, I don't know how I'm ever going to let it go!
