The Raising Aspirations team finished off a busy month of events with a World of Work event at Dixons Brooklands Academy last Thursday.

The event gave year 9 students the chance to learn about different job roles and industries from a varied range of business volunteers. The volunteers at this event represented roles in the hospitality sector, the government and the NHS to name just a few!

In the feedback from the day, students noted how helpful it was to start thinking about their futures at the same time as choosing their GCSE options.

If you'd like to get involved with a future event please email the team on [email protected]

At our latest World of Work event, a range of business volunteers shared their career journeys with the students of All Hallows RC High School!

The year 9s learnt about roles they'd never heard of before, different routes available to them after high school and what skills/qualifications they'll need in different job roles.

Thank you to all our business volunteers who took part! You did a great job of inspiring the next generation of workers.

If you would like to get involved with future World of Work events, contact the Raising Aspirations team at [email protected]
