Fabulous pencil sketching work in Year 6 based on the book Poppy Field.
Y4 had an fun-filled Parent Stay and Learn yesterday around Times Tables. It was amazing to see the buzz and enjoyment around the classroom ☺️
Year 5 have really enjoyed taking on the character of Lil from our class novel ‘Secrets of a Sun King’ and have written some fabulous letters.
Year 5 have enjoyed creating Power Point and Word documents using their knowledge of geocentric and heliocentric theories they have learnt about in science.
We have unleashed the drumsticks in year 3 this week! Such a beautiful racket!
We have been busy matching and sorting in F2 this week! We found so many ways to sort things and got very quick at matching in snap!
Year 5 had lots of fun investigating shadows. We found out how and why shadows change over the day. Luckily the sun shone for us!
Year 2 had such a wonderful time at the Tropical Butterfly House on Monday!🦋
We have been Den Building in Y6 as part of our . The children have showed resilience, creativity and brilliant team work and creativity skills. They then enjoyed some hot, toasted marshmallows... yummy! Well done Y6!

4M enjoyed using the microscopes. They went on a bug hunt for creatures on leaves and looked at them through the microscopes. The detail was amazing!
Y4 had a fantastic time down at Wath Amateur Boxing Club! We worked really hard on our fitness, pad work and footwork.
In 6GS we applied our understanding of circuits to make our own version of the Fairground Buzzer Game.
Mrs Shaw has a serious headache from 15 buzzers all afternoon - but the kids loved it!
Y6 are enjoying our new topic, Electricity. We've explored static electricity, investigated how electricity is generated&transported, learnt about how technology has led to developments in electricity over the years & spent time building series and parallel circuits.

We've been learning about heart rates, importance of physical activity and putting it all into action!
Year 4, had an amazing afternoon led by . They learnt about mayfly larvae and how to care for them, built their own aquariums and engaged in exciting activities related to rivers.
We can't wait for the larvae to become Mayflies.
Y1 had a great experience at learning about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores! It was great to apply all our learning to real life animals!
Year 2 been experimenting with paint mixing to create Van Gogh-inspired artwork, we are so pleased with our work!🌟
This week in FS1 we have been looking at work by Vincent Van Gogh. The children looked carefully at the painting 'Starry Night' and then painted their own starry night.
Y6 have been learning about light over the last few weeks. This also links in with our Picture This project this term.
We've explored how shadow puppets are created, how our eyes work and how light travels. Some brilliant enquiry questions Y6 - well done!
Year 5 really enjoyed their writing workshop with author Nik Perring at Wath Library. They were inspired to write their own poetry and are very proud of what they created.
Year 4 l had an exciting afternoon yesterday with studying river animals and pollution at Brook D**e.
Year 5 worked hard to create these clay tiles of King Charles. They were really proud of their finished pieces. Well done!
4M hosted a Stay and learn that was a real ‘Royal affair’. The children made their own royal crowns as part of their mini topic for the Coronation of King Charles III.
Y6 had a lovely time on their scavenger hunt finding different leaves within the grounds of school and then the children applied their understanding of taxonomy to create some classification keys. Well done Y6!
Tadpoles, frogs and tortoises all helped 1MB learn about reptiles and amphibians!

4K had an enjoyable time heading back into the Foundation Stage play area to do brick rubbings and brick sketches as part of our study of Bob Barker’s work.
Year 2 had the most incredible day in Filey yesterday! The children were such a credit to our school!🌟
Lots of hard work and concentration from the children in Y5 this morning during their lesson with Caroline Lee, ceramic artist. Mrs Lee taught them how to make miners’ houses, which can be used to hold a battery tea light, and lamps strengthened with wire.
4M have delved deep into the work of Yorkshire artist, Bob Barker. They've looked closely at his use of light in his paintings and are looking forward to using his work to inspire their art journey this half term.

Y1 had a great time at The Deep today. We studied the importance of protecting our oceans and preserving our beautiful wildlife.
