The Shropshire Astronomical Society (SAS) is a county-wide group for anyone interested in astronomy, star-gazing or space exploration. It meets once a month for observing sessions, and about twice a year for lectures by guest speakers

The SAS is keen to promote astronomy and raise public awareness of astronomy. Its aim is to make astronomy available to EVERYONE with an interest in the night sky regardless of their level of knowledge

With the clocks changing in a few weeks this is the final session at Little Ness until Autumn. All are welcome- please dress appropriately for the cold weather.

This Saturday is our monthly meeting where there will be a talk on star gazing and what to see in the winter skies. If you received a telescope over Christmas and need advice please bring it along and someone will assist you.
Currently the forecast is for rain but hopefully it will change by Saturday.

This Saturday is out monthly meeting at Rodington and we have a guest speaker, Dr Ashley King, talking about the FRIPON network and finding meteorites. The talk will be via Zoom and members will be sent a link if they prefer to join online. Hopefully the sky will be clear afterwards for some observing

Remember this is an outdoor event, so dress appropriately and please check the skies- if it is raining or cloudy there will be no observing. This is open to all.

This Saturday is our monthly meeting at Rodington. If the weather allows we will be viewing afterwards but we will have a telescope session to begin with.

This Saturday is our monthly meeting (a week earlier than usual to tie in with the Perseids). Bring a chair and layers for viewing outside!
Steve will do a short talk inside first and then hopefully the skies will clear for the Perseids. All are welcome but please wear sensible clothing and footwear.

This Saturday we are on tour! For this month only we will be at Rushbury Village Hall - SY6 7DS for a talk from Ian Morison. Doors open at 7.30 with the talk starting at 8.
