What a magical morning 🥰

We just love our job so much, Christmas is so magical through the eyes of children ✨️ 😍 ❤️

Today we visited Santa's real reindeers, there were so many.

Christmas music was playing as we bought the special reindeer food to feed the reindeers so they can fly on Christmas Eve.

The children giggled with excitement as the reindeer licked the food off their hands 🤣

We had the whole paddock to ourselves, we even chased a few chickens 🐔 😂

Once we had finished feeding the reindeers we washed our hands and used hand sanitizer to make sure our hands were clean again

Party day today 🎉

We played the dance and freeze game , the ping pong game and the cotton wool.ball game.We had so much fun 😄

We danced to the party music 🎶

For our younger children we had the pat mats out for them to explore, they also observed the older children dancing around.

We did some Christmas colouring too .

Our weekly music class 🎵
The theme was under the sea today, so much to explore .

Our day began with some Christmas yoga 🧘‍♀️ ✨️

We visited Bradley fold garden centre this morning to plant some bulbs.

First of all we stopped off at the letter tree to receive our letters from Father Christmas 🎅

We then went into the cafe area to plant some trumpet daffodil bulbs. We each had a pot and filled it with soil and then planted the bulbs.We talked about caring for the bulbs and making sure we water them to help them grow 🌼🌹

Countdown to Christmas has begun 🎄
Our adventures took us to Heaton park today for a Winter walk through lightopia.
We played shadow jumping and looked at all the displays.
We stopped off under a twinkly light canopy for a hot chocolate to warm us up 🍮

We also had a trip through Narnia and a virtual sleigh ride to Lapland ✨️❤️

A morning of Christmas crafts and relaxing music with pictures playing in the background.
Lots of focus on our fine manipulative skills today as we peeled the stickers off the paper and stuck them onto our pictures 🎄

The focus was on shapes today at Bridge Tots.

Messy morning home made spaghetti play or is it wriggly worms 🪱
We also had a mini band with the musical instruments 🥁🎶

Today we visited Newbank garden centre to look at the pretty displays.

We looked at all the pretty lights and the Christmas trees, we used our sense of smell to smell the Christmas aroma 🎄

The children loved all the light displays and spotted lots of owls as we looked around.

A visit to our weekly playgroup today Bridge Tots 🙂

The theme was Children in need, in the craft room there was a tuff tray filled with coloured rice, funnels, scoops and cake cases, there was also coloured felt balls and cups and bottles.The children enjoyed filling the bottles with the rice and using the scoops and funnels.

We also made some rainbows 🌈 we used glue and coloured paper to stick onto the rainbow.We talked about the colours.

On the wall was different coloured paper and the children had a sticker sheet each to peel the coloured stickers off and match to the coloured paper.

In the large playroom was the soft shapes, role play kitchen, cars and garages, books and activity toys.

To finish the session off we had some parachute games and some music and movement 🎵🎶

Listening to the sound of the rain on the conservatory roof and watching it fall to the ground from our windows.

A visit to a local Cenotaph to pay our respects.

The theme was bonfire night 🔥
We danced and moved around to the music , using lots of props.

Today is Brush your teeth day.
To celebrate this we did a dental activity.
Clean those teeth 😬

Today we did some observational work as we cut open a pumpkin 🎃 The older children gathered around the table as Linda cut open the pumpkin, we talked about sharp knives and that adults must only use them and the children said if they used them they may cut themselves.

The children said there were seeds inside .

We placed the pumpkin on a table with the lid off for the children to scoop out and explore.

The younger children enjoyed touching the inside of the pumpkin and feeling it.

The older children put the seeds into pots and counted them too.

Just before lunch we read a story that one of the children brought in to share with their friends 😀

Spooky celebrations at Woodlands Childcare today 🎃
We did a Halloween hunt around the close and a fancy dress parade 🙂
We ticked the objects off on our sheets as we spotted them and collected lots of treats in our trick or treat bags too 😉

So frightening now the dark mornings and nights are here .
I always say that schools should allow brighter clothes/coats for Winter so that children are clearly visible.
There is a child in the same place on both pictures, top picture in a bright coloured coat, bottom picture in a dark coat .

Our adventures took us to a new song and dance class today 😍
We had great fun exploring all the sensory activities .
The theme was Halloween and so we used lots of props and musical instruments to assist us in our songs .

Off on a pumpkin picking adventure today 🎃
We had great fun finding pumpkins and rolling them down the hill.
Feeling how heavy the pumpkins were and counting how many we had found.
We then visited our childminder friends house for lunch and played at the Halloween tuff tray activity.

We linked our focused activity with our core book - Room on a broom 🎃
Fantastic size ordering by the children.
We will continue this in the outdoors and natural environment by using sticks, conkers etc..

Let's go on a magical Autumn adventure to find an enchanted fairy land - A lovely invitation to play today at playgroup ♥️ The children used their imagination and some fabulous communication skills as we talked about the 🧚‍♀️ fairy land .
Our craft activity was painting a hedgehog picture using a dish brush , we had a great conversation learning facts about hedgehogs.
Where do they live?
I wonder what they do if they are in danger
How do they feel ? 🦔

Off on a Halloween adventure today
Can we find some pumpkins 🎃, witches 🧙‍♂️, skeletons 💀 etc.
When we found the pumpkins we held them to feel the weight and size, we talked about how they felt, some were smooth, some were bumpy and some were very odd shapes 🎃
We finished our adventure off with a ride on the Halloween train 🚆 ☠️🦴

Autumn/Halloween pocket of play

An Autumn walk around Burrs Country Park today .
We did a scavenger hunt and collected Autumn items to bring back for our Autumn tray, so we can explore them closely 🍂🍁

Yesterday we supported the Macmillan charity at playgroup.
We chose a cake each to buy and have after our lunch 😋
Playgroup was all about baking with lots of activities supporting this.

Autumn crafts and funny stories is the agenda for today 😄

Today we went on a Scarecrow hunt..
Looking for signs of Autumn whilst searching for scarecrows too .

A fun filled activity morning at Bridge Tots.
It was all about transport today 🚑🚒🚔🚖🚘🚜🛵
We had great fun playing with the boats in the water, washing the cars at the car wash - little tikes ones 😀, making hot air balloons , making patterns and marks with the cars that had pens attached onto the paper.
We sang and danced around to transport songs and also had a story about different transport.
