On their last day of their residential, Step Up enjoyed a fish and chip lunch followed by a swimming session at a local pool.
The learners had great fun taking part in walking, skipping, jumping and running races in the pool as well as playing with the floats.
Step Up have started the last day of the local residential off in style with crumpets and croissants before completing their residential scrap books
On Day 4 of Step Up's local residential, our holiday goers enjoyed a trip to the cinema to watch Puss In Boots, followed by an all you can eat buffet at Pizza Hut. πππ¬π¬
On their way back, they stopped off to get breakfast for tomorrow before watching a bit of High School Musical before home time.
Step Up have begun preparing for Mother's Day this week and have been busy making cards.
They have also made and designed their own bird boxes and learnt how to use a variety of common tools, including drills and screwdrivers.
March 16th is world Panda Day!
Famously found in China the Giant Panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) is black and white and most known for being big fans of bamboo. Believed to have been roaming the earth as early as 3 million years ago, they are the focus of a lot of conservation efforts. You may have seen in past news that they have been upgraded from βendangeredβ to βvulnerableβ by the IUCN which goes to show the importance of charity and conservation work.
Skills for Independence have enjoyed another session at BoxingFuturesUK and took part in circuits before stepping inside the ring and learning some new moves.
The learners are really enjoying these sessions and they help with their coordination, mobility and overall fitness.
On Day 3 of Step Up's residential, learners enjoyed a day at the beach!!
The tide was in all the way to the walkway but we managed to spend a little bit of time with our feet and paws on the sand before hitting the arcades, exploring the town and having a tasty, two-scoop ice cream.
Step Up have enjoyed having Therapy Dog Thistle in their class this half term and have LOVED playing with her during breaks and lunch. Learner's laughter and Thistle's excited barking can often be heard at these times and it is truly heartwarming.

Step Up have enjoyed an afternoon of Kaspa's deserts and a spot of shopping as part of their "local residential".
Fun was had by all and it is safe to say that everyone has very full bellys!
Learners had a fab morning at Glo Golf Peterborough as part of their "local residential".
On Day 2 of Step Up's localised residential, they have enjoyed a morning breakfast of scrambled egg, bacon, sausages, baked beans, toast and hash browns.
Step Up have enjoyed their second boxing session with BoxingFuturesUK.
This week, they used the cardio wall and enjoyed competing against each other to see who could get the furthest - a big WELL DONE to one learner who reached level 47!!! WOW After their warm-up, learners learned some new boxing moves, completed circuits and tried out the punching bags.
This week in college, Step Up are taking part in their "localised residential", a fun week of team building and social skills!
Day 1 saw them hit the bowling alley, in the VIP lane of course, followed by McDonalds and shopping. The learners had an enjoyable time working together and supporting each other in the bowling.

Skills for Independence enjoyed a morning of travel training.
They took the bus to Yaxley to get used to being on transport for long periods of time before heading back to the town centre where they enjoyed some tasty treats in a local cafe and a wander around the shops.

Skills for Independence have begun a three week boxing course with BoxingFuturesUK. They enjoyed a visit to their boxing gym and learned the basics of boxing. They also got to go in a boxing ring and learn some moves.
We can't wait to smash out a second week!

Thistle has welcomed hugs and cuddles from all learners, supported people and staff and LOVES spending time at college.

Skills for Independence enjoyed an afternoon out in March town, picking up some new furniture for their college flat and exploring the local nature reserve.
